Just to confirm it, QB had the same wording and it's on PC.
Halo 5 Forge is already on PC, and has been for a while.
The original packaging came out before that version of the game was released. This is an update of the packaging to reflect that, nothing more.
Just another step towards the death of Xbox.
MS should go the way of Sega and start releasing on PS4.

They are moving heavily toward GaaS, which is highly profitable. That would make zero sense. Plus, utilizing the extensive PC gamer base for their games, opens up a huge revenue stream... Even if they sell-out istribution to third-party.
@ahmedkhan1994: Not at all. I'm telling you that the assumption of moving to selling games as third-party is highly speculative, as they are tapping into a highly profitable (Gaas) service-based market. It's something developers and publishers are moving heavily towards... Look at EA.
Plus, adding PC sales will help revenue in a huge way... It's a largely untapped market for MS.
Not sure this really confirms anything, but if it does, cool... more people get to play Halo. And equates to more sales. That's a good thing :)
This is actually good news if true. I would buy MCC on PC day 1 if that was also planned.
I think MS is smart to make an "Xbox Store" for PC as it increases the player base for their games. Sony should follow suit with Steam or something as they have already published some Playstation games to Steam - It would be smart.
Finally on pc, where the community will appreciate it. Will be a slow death for xbox when people can just get halo on pc instead of xbox
Why? The Xbox is largely cheaper, and performs decently well... The X is excellent cost/performance. I gave my Xbox to a buddy due to Play Anywhere and my more than capable PC, and even I can see that.

People kept forgetting you dont need a beefy pc to run games. Its the beauty of pc/laptops. Why get separate machines when you can just buy pc and play all there. Just make sure its around minimun requirements.

Yeah, that's a pretty broad response. There's no guarantee that minimum costs the same as the equivalent settings on a base Xbox, or even X. The cost may not be worth it, and that's fine.

Not saying Halo can do PUBG numbers, but it has the potential to be much bigger on PC than Xbox One, given how unpopular the console is this gen. If they only did one thing... bring it to Steam.
@lundy86_4: well, a $800 laptop is a better buy when it can do both pc tasks and xbox gaming. Portable to boot, much more desirable than an xbox. Also budget graphics card nowadays like the 1050 out performs the base xbox and ps4 pretty easily.
Yup... Yet they outprice the console. I don't have an Xbox due to my PC, but I can clearly see the cost benefit. The offset depends on the user.

Definitely. MS will lose 30% or so, but if the benefits outweigh the potential loss.
I really don’t mind them putting their games on the PC myself. I’m not interested in gaming on the PC so I’ll stick with their consoles just the same.
@Archangel3371: that's the thing. I don't know why people like IP Daily hate this so much - MS doesn't care, and may even do better because of it (they think they will based on their numbers!). If you have a PC and like to play on PC, MS can sell to you. If you'd rather just play on a console, MS can still sell to you. If they make more money and sell more games in that process, you presumably win regardless of whether you gave them the money on PC or through their dedicated Windows gaming device line (I.e., Xbox).

That is also correct on the price. But thing is, most people who work or students owns a laptop, and it doesnt have to be a $800 laptop. As I said, as long as it meets the minimum recommended requirements you dont need an xbox anymore. With all these tech, just waiting for an intergrated gpu like intel HD or AMD ryzen to outperforms the base xbox. Those things are cheap
But yes I also see xbox cost benefits, just a diminishing one.
