At first glance, the “SteamU” looks like an update to the UI. However, looking closer you might see some unique titles.

It would be smart if true. They are only costing themselves sales by limiting it to the Windows 10 store that most pc gamers want nothing to do with. Sell it on Steam, get a cut of the profit, require a login to xbox live to play online so cross-platform play can still work flawlessly, and your game sales will increase on pc. I wonder if it could still be cross buy, or if that would be exclusive to the windows store?
There was also that similar leak of Halo 3 forever ago.
Not that I wouldn't love to play Halo on PC, but I'll keep my expectations in check.
Maybe it means that Microsoft worked out a deal with Valve to unify their digital XB1/Steam stores to further unify XB1 & Windows PCs to a single platform of shared content. Doubt it, but that would be cool.
I'll wait for something more official...
Lol best response yet. Really.
lo how come?

In 2011 three OFFICIAL game groups were added to Steam, can you guess what they were? Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3... Do you know what came of that? Absolutely nothing, they were removed from the platform shortly after being added.
I remember when Blloodborne showed up on steam.
If this is true, then Microsoft's exclusives will sell even more than the already great numbers they get.
Win win for gamers.
That wasn't Steam, I think it was a screenshot on a driver update or something.

People on this forum are quick to jump on rumors. I even catch myself doing it sometimes -- and then here you are like, "wait for an announcement."
Wait a sec I thought the Halo games were considered kiddie fps games and all that Halo can't compare to real fps or some such ever since Halo 2 came out? now all of a sudden there's all this 'hope' that it will release on PC?

Was thinking the same thing. I remember the same thing years back with Halo 3.
This still wont effect me as I'm still going to play where my friends are since I cant play vs MP from PC to console.

oh lol
@dynamitecop: yeah it was Steam

$ony will probably close the studio anyway.
Oh shit, so yeah...

That's just cows hoping for further exclusivity loss, not further interest.

Then we can own lems for having 0 exclusives and PC gamers that are used to real FPS can own lem players and make fun of them. What's not to celebrate?
Awesomesauce now let MS work on getting a Steam App for Scorpio and the fanboys will cry.
xbox one vs PC. it was more problematic. Scorpio is substantially more powerful console. There is literally only a couple of reasons to join the PC master race now. You want to be big into strategy games and indies to not consider buying the Scorpio.
Mortal Combat X?
And with that this thread is dead.
There are more examples like that. Metal Gear Solid 5? It's "METAL GEAR SOLID V".
This is so fake, it's embarrassing.

Maybe MS know that windows store doesn't sell games and after they had to issue refunds for COD because no one was buying it out of their shitty store, they say hey lets just put the damn game on steam and be done with it..
That actually make more sense, hell quantum break on steam ran on DX11 and worked on windows 7 the windows store version doesn't. DX11 was faster than the windows store version as well..lol
No reason to own a 720pStation Pro either.
Hahahhaaha you can taste the tears on this post..hahahahahaha

It's still going to require UWP
@daniel_su123: Yeah I doubt it happens at all at this point. The Windows 10 Xbox app is still in its infancy. MS isn't giving up on it by releasing games on Steam yet. I know Quantum Break showed up there, but it wasn't MS first party. I think if the W10 Xbox app fails, you'll see them on Steam but with no Cross-buy.
Can you not add games not from steam onto your games list? I'm honestly more interested to see what happens with Halo 6 knowing its going to end up a play anywhere title. Game will be built with PC in mind from the start.
You can, but it basically just enables the overlay and tells your friends that you are in said game. It doesn't actually add it to Steam and use any integration, whatsoever.
It's cute how the xbox fanboys don't know how console profits work, I suppose they didn't have the intelligence to avoid xbox in the first place though, so it's to be expected.
Too good to be true. Probably being a placeholder of some short. I'm pretty sure that Halo 6 will have a PC port down the road though.
I'll wait for something more official...
Really, why? The Internet hasn't been known to create incredibly realistic photoshoped images in the past. Why don't you simply accept this blindly?

I think this was a mistake on Steam's part.
"According to SteamDB, Valve has released a new beta build to remove the files—which only confirms the obvious, that their inclusion was a mistake." Just read the article.
