Doom is the best SP shooter i played in very very long time, halo5 was not that bad either.

Single Player: Doom

Multiplayer: Halo 5

Since I'm more of a Single Player guy, I'll go with Doom.

Not much of a MP player, so DOOM.

Halo 5 vs Homefront: The Revolution is a better comparison. Doom 4 crushes Halo 5.

Considering Halo 5 is an utterly mundane rehash of a generic series to begin with.....yeah. Not a hard choice.

Even Doom 3 is better than DOOM. Halo 5, hands down.

DOOM is what doom 3 should have been

Doom 3 terrific horror/action game significantly better than either Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space.

DOOM fun, but very redundant with terrible resource management - a pale imitation of the original designed for Call Of Duty people. Universal ammo incredibly disgusting.

Anyone who votes for Doom MP over Halo 5 MP quite simply hasn't played Halo 5 MP. I was in the Doom Beta, and the MP is stale as an old loaf of bread. Everything from the announcer on down is..generic. Campaign wise, from the things I have heard, Doom would probably take the vote. Halo 5's campaign was pretty bleak, but the MP is quite impressive. I noticed a bit of plagiarism as well from the Doom MP when I was playing. Seems to me the developers probably play Halo 5 as well.

Doom for sure. Halo 5 only had a couple good modes in multiplayer, and the single player sucked.

Doom has a great single player, and a mediocre multiplayer, but the single player makes up for it.

Doom MP was outsourced to Certain Affinity. They are ex-Bungie devs and made Halo 4 MP also.

Whilst I enjoyed the Doom campaign more than I thought, and I think the Halo 5 campaign is the weakest in the series, overall I think I still preferred Halo.

Doom, I still liked Halo 5 but playing it felt more obligatory, but it didn't blow my hair back like Doom did.

Doom, Halo sold out to the COD crowd with 'aiming down the sights' and with the new Melee/gore kills Doom actually does what halo used to the best at much better.

It was really refreshing to play decent, Fast paced, Circle strafing twitch shooter.

Left me hankering for another quake or Unreal.

Halo 5 is a bloody good game not as good as doom but still a good game.

Halo 5 and Doom both have the same MC score but a game with a completely different Score is a better comparison?

Doom and Halo 5 both have extremely similar gameplay mechanics but you want to compare it to a game that doesn't?

@uninspiredcup: Have you played it? Doom single player does not have universal ammo system.... Furthermore what the hell are you talking about with Doom 3? It was a incredibly slow paced wonky shooter that relied on cheap jump scares that became incredibly predictable the first few hours in. Hell it was out done by FEAR in every way possible shortly after to.

@delta3074: the ADS in Halo is nothing like cod or other shooters and doesn't provide any accuracy bonus.

It's nothing to be ashamed of my friend, many people like it but are too scared to speak up for fear of reprisal.

the fact that it was half implemented and i could still play it the way i have played the other halo's was a redeeming factor and why i think Halo 5 is an amazing game to boot despite what the hater would say.

I just feel that with the new Stagger/Gore kill system in Doom that it actually does what Halo was best at much better.

It's the same kind of gameplay throw bullets at your enemy whilst closing in to melee attack them and circle Strafing is most defintley a viable option

The new Doom just isn't as dark or foreboding as Doom 3, in Doom 3 the atmosphere Art style and map design make you feel isolated and as if you are 'up against it' Doom 2016 you feels more 'walk in the park' than 'up against it'

i was gutted they didn't Bring back the torch/weapon switching that made Doom 3 so tense.

Doom is meant to feel Claustrophobic,

don't get me wrong, i still love the new doom but i didn't get that 'Epic' feeling i got with doom 3.

@delta3074: None of what you said is in fact correct what so ever. Doom is not meant to feel claustrophobic.. How do I know this? Because the originals, Doom 1, Doom 2 and final Doom had a multitude of large sprawling levels where you had to explore.... And the game was first and foremost a fast paced action shooter. You may claim to like Doom 3, and that's fine, but to say that it is closer to Doom is flat out wrong. Doom 3 is in fact the least Doom like of all the major releases of Doom...

And really your praising the flash light mechanic that every one HATED? Maybe you just don't like Doom games and that is why you like the least Doom like game of all in the series?

Same for me as well. I always enjoy a FPS campaign wise and I just started playing Doom as it is, the single player was the reason why I love this new Doom.

Since Halo 5 was a truly letdown and I find it to be very boring, Doom's single player is the clear winner here!

Halo 5 crushes DOOM in multiplayer, there simply is no comparison. However, I still enjoy a few matches of DOOM online....it's quick, fast, not complicated. Funny in a way for some reason, makes me laugh when I play DOOM online....I like it, but it's nowhere as good as Halo 5's.

Solo campaign, don't know because I'm not yet done with DOOM. But I think it's safe to say the campagin in DOOM is better as a solo experience. I played the Halo 5 campain with friends and that was really fun as well, but as a solo experience I'd have to give the nod to DOOM, they nailed it.

Alien Isolation is the best FPS this gen.

The MP in DOOM kinda sucks so I'll get more hours out of Halo 5, so I pick that.

@dynamitecop: Can we even say that Alien Isolation is a fps to begin with? The game is heavily stealth based with very little shooting to begin...

You use more ammunition in the first demon nest in Doom than the entire Alien game.

Halo 5 is the only right answer. :P

I think it qualifies, barely, but I'd say it does.
