[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]wheres the option that their both good games!? is it 'i like cheesy pie'oyvoyvoyv
That's the middle one... I mixed up TS and FPA sry but it says "TIE" in the end
I think at the end of the day it is all about what you want from a game. Metroid lacks multiplayer which is what gives some games more replay value, but the singleplayer is amazing with an indepth storyline. After Echoes which had some multiplayer features as well as Hunters, as a die hard fan of the Metroid series, having multiplayer would just be wrong because it just does not work for the game as well as others.Halo has lots of replay due to the multiplayer but at the end of the day the singleplayer is short and not as good as Metroid Prime.
Metroid has great single player and I would not trade that for multiplayer because then the developers would feel obligated to make the game more multiplayer heavy and it would impact the single player, as most FPS's have proven.
Halo has great multiplayer but I certainly would not expect Bungie to make a game as good as Metroid Prime on a single player level, because they might feel obligated to dumb down the multiplayer as a sacrifice for the single player.
exactly, i cant put it into words but metroid prime 2 and 3 in particular just didnt have what metroid prime had, just "it"
Iron-Dragon
Prime 2 was just a more poorly excecuted version of Prime 1. The puzzles weren't as good, the boss fights weren't as good, the weapons weren't as good, and it lacked the minimalistic, but compelling, storytelling of the first one via reading scans as you advanced into the Space Pirate facilities.
Welcome to the sheep bomb-shelter thread. Sheep are welcome here to ride out the storm until Godlo 3's immense ship of pwn leaves.
9.5 > 8.whatever
It's okay, guys! It's okay! Just eat some more MREs and you'll feel better.

At least Echoes was more direct with the story, but then again Corruption was even more direct then that which is nice, I hate reading through all the bloody scans to understand the story, it got very painful in the first game.

dang, voted before I read the entire thing.
I vote for Metroid. Halo 3's single player made me insanely frustrated. Metroid Prime 3's is almost too good! Prime 3 will be more remembered to me than Halo 3, which is REALLY sad imo. Both were high up on my "must have" list. :(

Metroid is way better than Halo. Metroid Prime 3 may have failed to deliver the goods in some aspects, so Halo 3 > Metroid. But as a series I like Metroid way more. NOTHING beats Super Metroid in terms of awesomeness!Timstuff
I said after halo came, so it's only prime series counting
Metroid controls blow away Halo 3 more than Halo3 graphics blow away Metroid. - and Metroid is more fun.
I don't compare them because they are different genre's...there is really nothing to compare, unless you count that they both contain largely silent protagonists that wear power armor and live in the future. It's a terrible standard to compare by, but thats what SWers do anyways.

I saw a serious post followed by a wall of reviews. In any case, I hardly think my post is fanboyish, so your experiment isn't working.

Wow, what a beautiful place SW is... I wanted to make a thread like this too once, but I dropped the idea. Anyways, I value multiplayer more for 2 reasons: 1. replayability. SP gets old quicker than MP. 2. Social aspect. Games are more fun with friends.
Also I just had lovely apple pie.

i for one honestly believe that mp3 is an amazing game that hasnt recieved the reception it deserves.
halo 3 is a great game that has recieved more reception than deserved.
so heres the run-down: i think mp3 is better than halo 3, yes i said that and its true. halo 3, as i said, is also a great game, with amazingly addictive multiplayer, and great replay value. mp3 has godly controls most of the time, and if you play through it, you'll get an unforgettable experience. halo 3, if anything, is a game for the multiplayer, while metroid has no multiplayer. Its easy to say- comparing the single-players of both games, that mp3 is the better of the 2, thats not to say halo single player is bad- its great... i jsut believe that an epic single player with godly fps controls is better than an amazing multiplayer that isnt really ground-breaking on any terms, not really doing much new, though still being very enjoyable.
all-in-all, im just saying mp3 deserves more than its getting, its better than halo3
metroid=way undrrated
halo=waaaaaay waaayyy waaaaaayyyy over rated
i chose metroid better single player better story, plus im not in to hearing 12 year olds telling me zomg u just got pwned!!!

Yeah... Cause you don't hear anything at all...
Really, I don't like getting told I'm a noob by a 12 year old.
But! That is just a silly defence for not having mics

having a mic has nothin to do with it:| im just sayin im not that in to halo...its called an opinonI never honestly thought the Metroid series would make a good "FPS". And they don't. In fact, I think, according to gamerankings and metacritic, that the Prime games are heavily overrated. Enemies that respawn in the same fashion in the SAME room right after you've left it? Linear, narrow-paths? Annoying Space Pirate music? No thanks. As a side scroller, metroid is awesome, and all of that is fine.. Heck, I'd say that the 2D metroids are a hell of a lot better than the FPS Halos, but Metroid just doesn't work as an FPS.
Note: I own Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and Halos 1-3. I prefer the Halo games. Sorry. I know the rest of you cannot afford a nice computer to run Halo 1 and 2, and you're stuck with the Wii/Gamecube and have never owned an Xbox, and that the rest of you are Sony fanboys that are simply siding with Prime because you can't play Halo.. and yeah. No one cares about you.
PS: IF you're angry after reading this message, I understand completely. Sometimes the truth hurts.

MY OPINION:
Saying it is just your opinion is what some people would call damage control.
Sheep (Not all, some)act like they are happy that the Wii does not have a headset. This is just silly.

First, Metroid is not a fps, it's a FPA (NOT tactical shooter like some idiot said in the poll.)
I agree some of these things are annoying. To be honest with you, I have prime 2 and never finished it. That was because I became really annoyed with the enemies spawning again if I went into the wrong room.
Frankly, I don't have Halo, but played it at my friend's. It was boring as hell (Halo 2, this is). Maybe that was because I haven't played it enough or maybe it's just not my type of game
IN MY OPINION (Yeah, I just couldn't not caps-lock it) Red Steel is almost as good as both series. So why the Hell did I, of all people, make this thread?
I have no idea. Maybe because I love numbers, and making people look stupid, or maybe it was to get people to say that 9.7 is WAAAAYYY underrated.
Anyway, I went waaayyy off topic of what I was going to say. And telling people they are poor, is IN MY OPINION stupid.

what a silly comment, as far as i know Metroid has gots awesome marks all accross the board including a nine out of ten in EDGE magazine
and its an awesome game, so it isnt overrated they actually got it right
and Halo isnt overrated it may have been hijacked by little
kids but again it got awesome marks all accross the board and it deserves it, including a 10/10 in EDGE magazine
do you avoid using GR for Halo 3 vs MP3 to avoid making it look bad or somthing?
Halo 3 is better. Live with it.
Halo > MP
