Halo better than Metroid ?

Why is everyone acting like Halo is gods gift to gamers master chief is just an attempt microsoft did to get their own Samus a failed attempt at that. The Halo series cant touch the Metroid series let alone the big 3 ... Samus has been shootin em up since 1987 ... halo is just a Rookie you cant even compare the two thats an insult to Metroid.

P.S Halo is not going to move more 360's than Nintendo will move Wii's this xmas

The Metroid series is primarily 2D adventuring/platforming, with a few FPS games (which I'm not going to try and compare, since I haven't played Prime 1 or 2, unfortunately) that are still heavily based on the adventuring/platforming aspects, from what I understand. Halo is completely FPS. They are very different series overall. The only major similarity is that Samus and MC are both badasses in suits that blast the heck out of alien races. And that both are considered among the best games for their respective consoles.

Putting aside all that though, I personally enjoy Super Metroid more than Halo, though I'm sure many will disagree with me.

Freaking agree! Although I do hope for a good online system in Metroid too.

Fanboyish? FYI the only last gen console I own is a Gamecube. I have never owned an Xbox (or even thought about it) or any of the games in the Halo series, but I have played both and imo they are infinitely better then the Prime series. Instead of making silly judgments and trying to attack people with opinions that differ to your own you should try to find out why I or people with similar beliefs dislike the series.

Oh and £4 is a lot when there are much better games to be had on the cube for a similar price. With that £4 I could have brought RE, Mario Cart, SSBM, or Soul Calibur 2.

Halo is better than Metroid Prime

But nothing can really compete with Super Metroid.  Halo and Metroid Prime don't even come close 

They really are totally different but in my opinoin it goes like this(i had MP1 BTW and i played Echoes at a freinds house)

Halo 1>>>>MP1>>>>>>MP2>>>>>>>>>>>>Halo 2

Last time I checked, Metroid Prime had a 9.7 and a GOTY award from gamespot, as well as being the 3rd highest rated game on game rankings. Obviously gaming sites and publications think Metroid Prime is a better game than Halo; I just wish gamers felt the same way.peaceful_anger

Let me speak on the behalve of a friend of mine by saying that Metroid is infinitely better in any way, shape, and form in a all single player aspects of gaming than Halo.  It is just a stone cold, hard slab of prime (pun) fact that everyone knows whether they want to admit it or not.  Halo, on the other hand, has one of the most kick *** online experiece ever to grace the consoles (certainly not PC :P) in the entire histoy of gaming.

That said, I have high regards for both games and can't wait for either of their releases.

Metriod Prime is trash and does not deserve a 9.7. The game was utterly boring and I couldnt keep myself to keep on playing the game. I stopped after beating some ice monster. The adventure elements suck out all the fun because all you are doing is going into areas and finding upgrades then your map blinks and you head to a new area to find another upgrade. Not to mention the enemies respawn everytime you open a door. Just too much boredom and not a single fun moment. The reason it got a 9.7 was because reviewers were amazed at the graphics. You may say it has good gameplay, but I say it had boring gameplay.

Also I see many used copies of MP at stores, why? Because people who bought it thought it was boring and took/sold the game back right away. Everyone still has their copy of Halo. Not to mention the sales of MP 2 were horrible because people knew what to expect which is boredom. Nintendo also marketed Prime as a FPS with advertisements showing intense shooting and stuff but they lied about that aspect.

Therefore the majority, not the minority of rabid GS sheep fanboys, prefer Halo because it is way more fun and it lives up to the expectations GoldenEye started for console FPS. Halo mainly is better because you drive vechiles and you are constantly shooting under intense action and there is never a dull moment.

Lastly, Nintendo should scrap the Metroid franchise because it is too boring for the majority of gamers and do something different for once like return to a Donkey Kong platformer or a Kid Icarus game.

Thats a little extreem, but they do need to do something about the story. Instead of crashing on a planet and talking (reading text rather) to giant grasshoppers...do something! 

I cant speak for him, but for me...I felt like I was just walking around looking for a new gun to open a door. I had no idea what the story was about...only that it appeared as if I had crashed on some planet. MP2 tried to add a little story to it, but it felt the same...I never played the old Metroids...so if thats why I`m not getting it then...whatever.

Yeah, I mean, I beat the games and everything...it was just...boring and slow paced and I couldnt stay with the story. I just beat it to be able to say...I beat it.

Yeah, I know. I read that MP3 is a little more linear than the others, but it wont ruin the adventure aspect of the game. So you should be fine.

Not to mention the controls were horrible and that lock-on system was poorly implented because sometimes it locks on the wrong target when you want to shoot something else and have to switch to manual aiming. I was bored out of my mind sitting there trying to find the last missle upgrade and people watching me play left and went into another room to watch my cousin play Godfather or Scarface, which I would rather be playing.

I bet bashed and yet I have played the game and made it over 35% complete before I got tired of going on. There was no action in this game where in Halo you are constantly moving and popping off rounds.

Oh it did. Leon S. Kennedy becomes James Bond and spews out one-liners with a midget villian while playing cat and mouse with him. Like I said I dont care about the story in video games, I care about the gameplay and graphics which RE4 delivered on and it is one of the best games I have played. Oh yea it is 100x better than MP's story-driven gameplay.
