nope i loved it since i played link to the past back in the day with my older cousin. the game just was meh for me. do the samething over and over again.

When I played Halo on the PC I had a good time and it certainly has some great gameplay moments. But the game doesn't compare to so many PC shooters and I don't see why it is so incredibly popular.meggido

I totally agree with the OP. I have the same opinions on Halo, and I have played the supposedley "better" PC titles like Half Life, Counter Strike, UT, etc... the fun I had playing with those was nothing compared to Halo 2 on Xbox Live. Or playing Halo 1 co-op.

The people who can't see the good in Halo are the people who refuse to try to just have fun playing games. The only PC shooter that's come close for me is BF2. No, it's core gameplay isn't special; I'd actually say it's pretty bad. But it was fun, and that's all that matters.

Halo CE was awesome, 2 was an abomination. They used the fanbase from CE to make a profit on a sub par game. Multiplayer for CE was where Halo gained its fame. Sure the campaign was fun at times, but you can only play a single player like that so many times before you want to play capture the flag. I find that most people that like Halo 2 never linked up 4 tv's 4 boxes and 16 people. Some buddies of mine and I had been doing it every Sunday for about 3 years (we called it "Nerd Night") Its the same concept as Golden Eye or Perfect Dark and those games you could only have four people, no do that with 16 and better weapons. I'll try Halo 3, but it will never live up to what CE was. And it did save the Xbox, probably the best launch title ever next to mario, but Halo was in development for what, like 8 years? How could it not be good?dimebag667

Future Halo3 players who aren't planning to get into the online multiplayer definitely should this time around.

Yesterday I had the most fun I've had in a while, playing Double Team (a Halo2 ranked match type, 2 vs 2) with my friend. Nothing on the PC, 360, PS3, or Wii so far even compares to the fun I had playing Halo2. Yeah, my taste definitely goes into the equation; I am not a Halo fanboy who is getting the Legendary edition; Halo games are just a lot of fun.

Such was it's power over "you". Not to mention the same can be said of other games.

Half-Life, easily. It outdoes Halo in all aspects, despite the fact that it was released years earlier.

ah touche, but if you consider the number of rabid halo fanboys about, youve gotto admit that it must have some effect on people. the sheer sales its accured, not to mention the strenght of the brand (1 mil preorders anyone?), show that it does certainly influence peoples spending patterns either through word of mouth or experience. so meh! dont get snotty with me lol!

graphics. it was older and didnt look as good. theres once way it didnt outdo halo and there were others im sure.

yes but then it would depend where you did it wouldnt it?? here in sw theres a definate anti-halo bias which would skew the results. in the 360 forum they would beinflated pro wise, the PS3to the negative, etc. It would also depend when you did it as well. just after halo 3 released for example or just after killzone released. its all relative so it would be tricky to do. But the number of people who played it overxbox live does demonstrate in a small way its lasting appeal.

When it came out it was awesome.

I mean scenarios like this were awesome.

So you ride up in your hog , take out some diving elites with the chain gun, cap some grunts with you pistol then snag a banshee with a sniper go up high and snipe some other fools, then come down pick up the rocket launcher and take out some wraith tanks and all the while picking of fools with your assault rifle. Yeah it was special damnit !!!

uhh...because you played it for the PC...that's why. It came out much later, and new games with better graphics were out by then.

God that arguement is getting annoying. I've been gaming since the SNES, I've played many of the great PC shooters, and IMO the only one that tops the original Halo is Half Life. Please stop with this ignorant attitude that everyone who loves Halo didn't play many games before it.

halo 1 is one of my favourite games ever.

its single player was staggeringly epic, its multiplayer was addictive as hell.

it's SP co-opwas probably my favoruiteexperience of co-op. All the vehicles and vastbattlefields...:)

in high school my friend would find a way to play halo 1 online. that just added a whole new element. it was very very very very awesome.

then halo 2 came out, and i liked it, but the scale of halo 1 was missing. The online and multiplayer was cool i'spose.
