It sounds like the Xbox One is the last console I'll be getting from MS, which I'm with fine with. I can't see them porting Halo 1-5/ODST/Reach to PC, so it's nice to have a console that can play those games. Can't forget Rare Replay either.
I may keep buying Nintendo handhelds, but otherwise PC has more than enough games to play. Sony consoles don't interest me much.
Loved Halo 1 2 and 3, thought ODST was decent and Reach was pretty good. I'm down to play 4 and 5.
Those Halo games you played were Bungie Halo 90+ metascoring games (save for ODST which was a side meal).

Don't mind that alt account user, he auto-buys 343 developed Halo $250 Collector Editions that drop in price to $95 within weeks. He's not playing with a full deck and he does attack anyone that doesn't feel exactly as he does about everything.

I wouldn't say bad, as I said they are decent in their own right, but the story was under-cooked is the correct way to look at it.
Although major Halo fanatics will tell you to read Halo Nylund books and piece meal things together despite the fact that 343 departed from the Canon as well. Halo 4's story was okay in retrospect, but Halo 5's campaign was the bigger disappointment of the two games.
The MP declined in Halo 4 as well, and I played that game for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours getting to the high rank of General as the community kept declining and despite the flaws/additions/Call of Duty-isms I felt held the H4 MP back. Halo 5's MP is actually good however, but it seems to me you are more interested in the SP.
Brilliant move by MS. They finally realize that no PC gamer will buy a console to play FPS games, or RTS in case of Halo Wars. With this they get millions of new players and more money. And still keep console players happy. Win-win.

Anyway, I personally think this is a good thing all round. More copies of a game sold hopefully means we get more money invested in more and better games. Plus it's working both ways with more PC games coming to Xbox.
@SolidTy: I'm so jelly of the RE4 GC Chainsaw controller, I wish I would have bought one back in the day. Have you tried using it? It doesn't look like it'd work too well, but it's a cool thing to set on the shelf.
No, I bought it back in the day and left it in the package. I actually have two and they are slightly different as one is for PS2 and one for the Gamecube.
I did however try to mess about with a friends RE Chainsaw GC controller as he has no qualms opening things up and yeah, it wasn't ergonomic.
Sort like when we played Pac-Man with our Rockband controllers one night (+ alcohol).

Fix UWP, and yeah it's definitely a win-win. Halo 5 is a blast to play, and I want Scalebound at an acceptable framerate for video games. 30 frames is gross.
Everyone who 'hates' MS will see this as some kind a failure for Xbox One, which in a way it could be, look at from a different point of view though.
How many PC's in the world run on Windows, 2 maybe 3 billion? I'll be conservative here and say just 10% of them are used for playing games, so that's 200 to 300 million potential customers that they're not tapping into. That gives them a potential install base that dwarfs the console market and they don't even need to worry about developing their own hardware to do it either.
There are some other things they need to fix first though, the main ones being UWP and the Windows App Store. If they really want to sell games to the PC market they are going to have to sort those shit shows out. The GfWL fiasco hasn't been forgotten either and I, for one, am very wary over how long they'll go before trying to launch a Windows games subscription fee.
The collection would be a waste of time to port to PC for 343i and it probably was not designed for PCs, but for the xbox one's archeitecture. This is why halo 5 won't be ported to PC.

What about brand recognition and stuff like that? I think there's a large group of people who have zero interest in doing any research on required power, much less build their own PC. They just wanna walk into Gamstop and point to the latest xbox (with a flashy logo, design etc) and be done with it. Xbox brand guarantess you will be able to play the latest games for the coming years. And that is all they want.
Besides with MS' store on PC it doesn't matter too much to them if people go with PC instead as they will still get a piece of software sales. They need exclusives as an incentive for people to move some of their action from steam to windows store.
