Animal Crossing was finished by the time COVID became a problem, and I'm hoping the Direct rumors are true, but I'll believe it when I see it. The last rumored Direct ended up being an 8 minute third party video.

Well, first off, speaking in hyperbole clearly doesn't translate well on the internet. Of course, we've heard from Nintendo in some capacity over the course of the last four months. They announced Pikmin 3 for October, they released a Paper Mario game. But compared to every other big publisher, they've barely made a sound.

Word around town is that COVID ravaged their work flow harder than the other major publishers, and the lack of information coming from Nintendo certainly adds credibility to that rumor. But I'm hoping they actually have a big e3-replacement style Direct coming this month, as I'd love to get some Nintendo news. Having a Wii U port coming in one of their bigger holiday slots doesn't leave me with much optimism, however.

Halo was pretty much the only new game coming from Xbox Game Studios at launch and, their timed / platform exclusives look OK at best. They'll have to rely on multiplatforms games ... games in which Sony is spending $$$ on to get exclusive content.

No reason to get either console at launch other than not playing a completely gimped version of CP77. But then again any console version of the game will still be gimped compared to PC.

Yeah, it could be that they were comfy with whereabouts they were with regards to the games looks and feel, and internet backlash made them take a step back. It really does suck, and is really embarrassing.

I have no problem with this. I would rather it get delayed than launch with issues. I'm sure there have been issues with the team considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. I just hope it is a good game when it launches.

Sony has other games that will be out sooner though, namely R&C and HZD2.

Why are you pretending that Miles Morales, Horizon 2, Demons Souls, GT7 and Ratchet don't exist? That's a great first year lineup. Much better than the Xbone or PS4 had in their first years.

Sony's already got Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, Demon's Souls Remake, Miles Morales, Horizon 2 and some other unannounced games around the corner. I doubt some of those games MS announced will even make it to market if they can't get Game Pass subs up... at full price.
