[QUOTE="markop2003"]A game is still relevent as long as it's being played and CS still has lots of players, Quake Live is also a candidate.Trinexxx
I mean an evolving game franchise. CS is the same thing over with a new graphics engine or small tweaks.

You have a strange idea of evolve. Evolution is not constant change it is gradual fine tuning to a changing environment. People still like CS's gameplay therefore it has no reason to change the same as humans have not evolved recently as there as been no environmental preasure to cause us to.

why fully change a winning formula, epic ways to attack having to think, halo is just perfect this way, i always thought halo 3 had epic gameplay i was wrong halo reach does, scoring a headshot is just so satisfying in the beta it was great, halo is a very polished and epic genre

I'll admit that Halo is very polished.. but I think TF2 is a bit more polished. It was polished on release and over 120 updates later it shows what years of development can do.

Cut me some slack, you know what I meant, but if you didn't then I'll try my best to explain myself. I'm avoiding the word revolution because that seems far too drastic to use when describing Halo's progress, but the way you describe evolution makes it sound far too light. I'm not trying to discredit CS in this thread, because I love the game and have been playing it for years, but it's still the same old CS. I fully realize that it gets updated fairly often and has a great community, but that's not the point I was trying to make here. I'm talking about a franchise that is still running - by running, I mean producing games consistently - and is updating it's formula in a somewhat drastic way. I'll say that Halo 3 was the least different Halo and that Bungie played it safe, but so far, Halo: Reach is offering a much more new experience. If you didn't get the chance to play the beta, then I can empathize for you because it definitely looks very reminiscent of previous Halo games. But I assure you, it is a very different game and the new weapons, gametypes, controls, loadouts, and characters change the way the game plays in a very fresh, but nice way. I hope that all connected with you and we don't have a CS vs Halo argument, because this thread was not intended for any of that.

Meh, Balance(is better) and teamwork is much more vital in Battlefield series, Counter-strike series, Team Fortress, L4D series, etc. Halo is pretty much like unreal, some team communication helps, but it doesn't win games. Also, too many guns suck compared to the good ones, which makes for useless arms.

The thing most apparent is how Halo's negatives and strengths are continuously overstated.

I think the setting of Halo that makes it great. It's in space. That gives you a lot of leniency. Like space suits. Too many fps are military Earth games. Like Resistance. And Resistance hurts even more because it's in the 1950's. Ew.

Till Battlefield 3 comes rolling around.

Ninja-Hippo
I was about to say this. :P If Battlefield 3 is the proper successor to Battlefield 2, as i hope it will be, rather than Bad Company or Heroes, it'll likely be the only game which will stop me playing Reach for the next four years.

 A battlefield game that is highly polished! Did you play BF2? :P

Why every time I come here, I see a new "Halo is the most blah blah blah..." topic? Just asking:?
