Halo Reach is going to bring back the Halo franchise

Bring it back? When did it ever go???

It's still the most actively played game on XBL. It's still the game of the MLG.

The only thing Reach is going to do is escelate Halo's already monumental popularity and Live presence.

Halo has fallen much like Unreal Tournament has. I have been more satisfied with COD series than Halo series this gen.

Really? Can you even argue that the single player component hasn't been going downhill? And multiplayer hasn't really been innovative either. Oh look we took out portals and put in jump gates!

IMO no the singleplayer component hasn't gone downhill, but it looks that it will improve with Reach, but that's just me. And jump gates? Don't you mean grav lifts or something because I'm pretty sure both those AND portals were in Halo 3.

Maybe. Those jumping things on that map with the huge bridge and the ones at the bases in the Blood Gulch remake. Now that you mention it I do remember portals on that remake of the Halo map. Only played the game for a week or two before it started gathering dust.

i've played all halo games and i personnally think its the best fps series. if you look at my sig, you'll see i'm replaying halo:CE so i can review it properly...i'll do thje same for 2, 3, and odst.

reach seems to have taken out the annoying things in halo 3, such as the spike, and flame grenades. it was so fustrating when i wanted to throw a plasma grenade at a jiralhanae but i threw afrag instead, so it just walked away. i'm glad its just frag and plasma now.

i also hope Bungie have also taken out a couple of weapons. don't get me wrong they're all great, but did we really need a plasma sniper?

they've also added in some great stuff such a sleath kills and jetpacks. also suit power-ups, even one that makes you sprint! FINALLY!

its going to be kind of weird at first to kill all those sangheili.....the arbiter ismy favourite character.

anyway I CAN'T wait!!!

Xbox Live didn't exist until 2002, a full year after Halo and the Xbox came out. Also, Halo Xbox didn't support Xbox LIVE and Xbox Live didn't support Halo...which is exactly what you said there in green. Perhaps you are recalling Xbox's 2004 Halo 2, PC Halo, or some Xbox Halo LAN Gamespy time?

The only 2 Halo games that are worth mentioning are Halo 1 and Halo 2. Halo 1 for making a great console shooter and Halo 2 for bringing multiplayer to consoles. "innovations" which halo has brought have been done by a hundred games before it, which really goes to show you how ridiculously simple halo was, push the stick forward and shoot, and try and avoid enemy fire, thats the basics of halo, dont try and bs it and say "oh but you have to be strategic" thats nonsense

Move, shoot, and avoid getting hit are the basics of any shooter.

Hell, replace shoot with slash, and you pretty much have addressed the basics of gameplay for action adventures and hack n' slashes too.

Of course, most games start to add things to differientiate themselves. Halo is no exception.

Seeing some of the posts that came after, that should be clear enough. No matter what is offered, if its in the Halo game its just not good enough. Experience has taught me that haters repel facts, evidence, and reasoning like bullets on a kevlar vest. Cancer can actually be cured before ignorance ever is.

I used to love playing Halo multiplayer but after Halo 3? I don't know. I can't stand it. No skill, bunch of whiney kids and to me barley anything changed. I won't even buy ODST. Full price for an expansion and the Halo 3 multiplayer. Seriously? Waste of money. I just feel like they are milking the **** outta Halo. There are much much better multiplayer and single player games out there.

Where has Halo gone? I mean, there are still over 100,000 players playing Halo 3 every day, which shows how awesome the series is.

And to the guy wishing that MC would get assasinated by a BC2 Soldier, MC's Armor has very advanced shielding, and the armor plating is able to withstand re-entry with only a few scratches. So, how can a knife penetrate MC's armor with all of those advantages?

Never said it wasn't my opinion. However I don't thinkyou can't justify Bungie making "Halo 3: ODST" years after Halo 3, selling it full price and giving you a disc with the multiplayer from Halo 3. To me that's a rip off. Here's an idea! Why not make ODST have it's own multiplayer instead of just giving everyone Halo 3's multiplayer again. Smells of a rip off to me.
