Halo Reach looks coming to the PC? Very likely.

I was thinking about the rumours that gearbox dudes hinted it was coming and it makes perfect sense. Bungie is now independent, MS is looking back at PC gaming, if you drop you fanboy hats an look at the situation it makes perfect sense for it to be a timed exclusive. It's been on the PC before, Fable 3 is coming, Kinect is coming, Bungie will make more money, I bet it was in the original Halo Reach contract. What are your thoughts? Personally I don't care, Halo on the PC is lame, controling the game with mouse and KB shows how slow it is, and how lame the weapons are etc. But I know a lot of you would like it.

I don't think it will, the gearbox hint was nothing more than a load of rubbish - that the employee himself hinted at being a joke. Was the dig at Halo really necessary btw?

I'd like it on PC but I don't think it will come. Oh well at least bungie's new stuff is multiplatform.

gearbox ported Halo:CE to the PC :S could be the same setup bungie does the xbox version and porting duties are shifted off to other companies and why loose out on all the potential extra sales?

Exactly, Halo 3 had Bungie at MS and MS focused on the 360 and getting exclusives. 3 Years later Bungie is independent, MS looks to be getting back into PC gaming see Fable 3 see Kinect, the 360 has never had so few exclusives... It all aligns. I think the people who don't agree just don't want it to happen. It's gonna happen.

I'd want it.... unlike popular thought there are people who enjoy these experiences on PC, and that's the great thing about PC, we got everything for casuals, hardcore and inbetween.

LOL Agreed, for PC gamers aka good taste and higher standards, Halo is just a consolized casual friendly slow FPS. But some people like console gamers that happen to have good PC's etc they'll be all happy.

Is that a joke/trick question? Are you really asking what part of Halo is casual?

don't you have any evidence to support it?

Not sure if serious... Even the most hardcore of Halo fanboys would admit it's a very casual friendly console FPS... I'm not even sure if your serious...

No offense but don't pretend you don't understand. I know very well all you Halo fans know exactly why it's casual... The game is designed for all ages, from the art style and graphics to the easy to pick up and play gameplay style. Halo 3 wasn't on the PC. Why would Halo: Reach suddenly make the jump? And before you go dropping that talk about Bungie breaking away from Microsoft, Microsoft owns the Halo IP and already has 343 Studios working on another Halo project. PLUS Gears of War 2 never came to PC as well and that was developed by Epic Games. Oh and let's not forget about the death of the PC version of Alan Wake either. If anything your talk about there being a lack of exclusives on the 360 is more of a reason for it to stay exclusive because Microsoft realizes they need solid support for the 360, hence no Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and Alan Wake on PC. They are keeping these games exclusive to give people a reason to buy a 360 because there are hordes of fans out there for them that will drop the money on a console to get the new Halo or Gears games. And also I'm a PC gamer myself and I had to laugh when you said Halo is a casualized FPS game. I never cared for Halo before but after picking up 3 and running through the multiplayer quite abit, it is still a pretty solid experience and holds up very well despite a few minor issues.

Halo 3, and Halo 3 ODST. If there was a time for a Halo game to go PC, it would've been ODST imo - seeing as it had the entire MP from 3 included.

And I consider myself an OK Halo player.. I keep getting invited to Halo 3 matches by people who play MLG customs (and are straight 50s) and get destroyed, to the point where it's humiliating. And anyone who thinks Halo is constantly slow, hasn't played enough of it imo. MP can get very frantic, play CTF or an objective mode.

Why is that relevant? It's more common nowadays for PC franchises to move to console anyway.

What does art style and graphics have to do with how casual a game is? Last time I checked it wasn't designed for all ages..... And actually it requires a fair bit of skill to get kills in and the action can be pretty fast paced too. Maybe you just aren't that great when it comes down to the FPS genre and things seem to move slower for you because of that. I'm not saying Halo is the best FPS multiplayer experience out there, that awards goes to Team Fortress 2 on PC, but it is definitely a solid experience. And a total noob can get a clean up kill on any game, it isn't that hard.

[QUOTE="Dead-Memories"] see how long your casuals last in the MLG playlist. Dead-Memories

See how long those MLG players will last in CS on the pc.

two very different games, you also assume that everyone that plays halo can't play on PC, which is a questionable stereotype. and besides, CS is nothing compared to quake competition, sorry. try out quake live and see what I mean.

You said there was nothing casual about Halo because the ones in the MLG lists are such pros. Halo is for casual players plain and simple. Games like CS and Quake Live (since you mentioned it) do require skill to be actually good at. Halo is just a FPS which moves at the pace of a snail.

[QUOTE="FriendlyGaimz"]I was thinking about the rumours that gearbox dudes hinted it was coming and it makes perfect sense. FriendlyGaimz

Halo 2 Fable 1 PC ...... Halo 3 Fable 2 no PC..... Fable 3 PC Bungie independent. hinted rumours. Kinect PC. Looks like Reach is going to the PC to me.

And what evidence do you base that on ? lol - an employee joking around on a forum? And when someone on the forum said it was a load of rubbish, the employee agreed with him :P

Pretty sure you haven't played much of it then, because if you play it slow - you'll die. Halo rewards skill. Please feel free to tell me why it doesn't (because no one has yet).

[QUOTE="Ikuto_Tsukiyomi"]

[QUOTE="Ravensmash"] Halo 3, and Halo 3 ODST. If there was a time for a Halo game to go PC, it would've been ODST imo - seeing as it had the entire MP from 3 included.Ravensmash

Halo ODST was a poor excuse for a game.

Why is that relevant? It's more common nowadays for PC franchises to move to console anyway.

Oh really is that why MGS: Rising, DMC4, Lost Planet, Lost Planet 2, Street Fighter 4, Bionic Commando Rearmed etc all came to the PC this gen because only pc is losing games to consoles? It looks like both the pc and consoles are losing franchises to each other.

when did I say it wasn't casual in the first place? so you're saying with your superb quake and cs experience, you can sweep up and auto-win every Halo match amirite? sorry, I didn't know that playing quake and CS make you a video game god.

You are still proving nothing. Halo 3 still isn't on the PC, neither is ODST. So why would Reach suddenly go PC? How come Gears of War 3 doesn't have a PC launch? With Kinect Microsoft is trying to get the most massive appeal for that device possible to push sales further, plain and simple. And it was one guy hinting at Reach going to PC and that has already been pretty much confirmed as a bust. Also Microsoft still owns all rights to Halo, not Bungie. It doesn't matter what Bungie would want to do with the game, they have no control over it. Even if they wanted it to be on the PS3 or Wii and took the time to actually develop it, it wouldn't happen because Microsoft owns the rights and the last 2 Halo games have been on the 360 exclusive. Again why would it suddenly make that jump when the last 2 entries haven't? And again I pose the Gears of War question. Epic isn't under Microsoft and yet Gears of War 2 isn't on the PC and there is no plans, hints, or rumors of Gears of War 3 coming to the PC either..... Open your eyes.

No one has explained why it's 'casual' yet. And how on earth is it generic?

No offense but don't pretend you don't understand. I know very well all you Halo fans know exactly why it's casual... The game is designed for all ages, from the art style and graphics to the easy to pick up and play gameplay style. It's slow, simple and even a total noob can go in and get some kills because of the way the shields work and cleaning up kills etc...

So because casuals and play makes it a Newb friendly game :? Going by that logic every game is casual.

I don't even play CS and Quake I don't like FPS that much but I do know they take more skill than Halo. And anyone who excels in either CS or Quake is alot better then someone playing MLG Halo.

Still, no one has actually EXPLAINED why Halo lacks skill (as people have said constantly in this thread).

Halo has always been accessible, but accessible =/= casual. There's a fairly steep learning curve to the game that you'll never see unless you play with the best.
