All the Halo games have had a terrible story, I doubt Reach will break that tradition
It will have good gameplay and Maps
The weapons will probably be interesting
Forge needs to be at least 500 times better then Halo 3's forge in order to be decent

no, halo 3 didn't have the needler rifle. :P

Halo doesnt have anywhere near a terrible story, any of them.
Correct.
Always are.
Forge was very decent for what you could do with it in Halo 3, any better and it'll be fantastic.
As for Reach being the best FPS ever, well no it most likely wont be, but it will likely be up there with the other Halo's as some of the best FPS's out there.

its been said that it'll be better, and 3s was already good, so problem fixed:)
Not really. It does look like a high quality top notch game but unfortunately paying 60 dollars for it doesnt allow me to play its multiplayer component so I am still not buying it.

Terrible characters and just a lame plot. The masterchief gets way to much screen time especially considering how the writers did such a good job of making sure no personality shows through his mostly emotionless voice. The plot is very straight forward with little twists or turns, and when there are you don't care because the characters involved was so unlikable anyway.
Halo: CE was the best but that's not saying much.

Am I missing something? It just looks like another Halo game, with slight improvements. Improvements that should have been made years ago to make Halo 3 worth $60...

Halo 3 was well worth $60, you must be thinking of ODST.

Now I think about it Halo 2 did have the better story. They portrayed the aliens well. most games just have aliens attacking earth for no reason Halo actually tried to give a reason for the attacks. As for plot twists I did say there were some but to me they had very little impact. I kinda ruined the flood surprise before playing Halo: CE so I can't comment on that one.
Terrible was an exageration but it still borders the line of bad and ok (imo)
And it's doing all kinds of things you've never seen Halo do before. I just don't get the logic of going down a list of features and discounting them because 'they've been done'. So what? Cover was done before Gears of War came out, but that was a good game. How revolutionary can anyone reasonably expect a first person shooter to be?well, you want things to be fresh.

you're right, no FPS nowadays can be truly REVOLUTIONARY, but it can bring in lots of small but important gameplay mechanics to notmake a gamer feel like he bought 2 of the same games but with different covers.

It was kinda predictable (in Halo 2 not 1) and the writers didn't give me any reasons to care if they have a civil war. Its like trying to make a big deal about a character you know nothing about dying *cough* gears of war 2 *cough*Well I found Half-Life 2 to be a much superior game to the Halo series and I don't think Halo Reach will make me think otherwise...
Eggimannd
I don't.
Apart from the section withthe supergravity gun, whichwas one of the most fun and rewarding sections in FPS games,Half Life 2 felt really boring to me.
I don't know, maybe because my mood wasn't correct, or whatever, but it just fealt like a constant set of hallways, one after the other. The combine felt like a constant stream of bots to kill, and if it wasn't for Alyx and Gman, the supporting cast won't be anything spectacular.
The actual guns also kinda felt boring too. I don't know how I can quantifiably explain this though.
And the fact that Gordon Freeman is a mute does not help, and it really did not put me in that position either.
What is the story about exactly? I'm curious.Still waiting.[QUOTE="toast_burner"]

Which is exactly what Reach is doing. It's added a tonne of stuff.Threads like this make me feel sorry for none PC gamers. They end up missing out on soooooo many AWESOME FPS, then come off thinking games like this are the best of the best and it gets no better.
Other than changing your main foes to Brutes, having elites fight on your side and choosing which side to take throughout the latter part of Halo 2, or even sitting out fights entirely as the covenant kill each other.[QUOTE="gamedude234"]

actually, you can't really sit out fights because as soon as enemys see you, they focus on YOU.
