[QUOTE="jethrovegas"]Game looks pretty good. Hopefully it will be more focused, and won't suffer from the erratic level design quality issues that plagued Halo 3.
Seriously, sometimes it felt like I was playing a different game by worse or better developers just depending on which level I was on.R3FURBISHED
Let me guess...lvls like Cortana made you despise it. While lvls like The Covenant, were awe inspiring.Of course I was one of the people that think The Library was one of the best, most action packed moments in all of Halo.
For starters, I'm not impressed by pretty colors or huge asplosions, so no, I didn't think 'The Covenant' was particularly awe inspiring, though it was a decent level.
The best levels in Halo 3 are the ones that are tightly and intelligently mapped, have a constant sense of forward progression, and manage to offer you a decent amount of variety without outstaying their welcome. In that sense, Sierra 117 and Tsavo Highway are the best of the Halo 3 levels. Both were entertaining throughout, well designed, and well paced.
And yes, 'Cortana' is a textbook example of bad level design.
