Halo Reach: Why is the Player Count Dwindling?

Number change overtime, they grow and fall, the real test will be in a year or 2, will the game still have good numbers?

Because player counts naturally decrease over time? This isn't surprising, nor threadworthy. Happens with practically every console game.

ummmm the game came out a littel voer a month ago thats not that much time, and for me the credits and lack of a true competetive experience is making this game old. People have gone from playing for a rank to playing for an armor peice and htey dont have that much motivation anymore. Bungie made a mistake, with reach. The online numbers used to be 400,000 on at a time when all th hype went down, and now that number is in half, and is going to get smaller as Black ops approaches. More people still play MW2 over Halo reach. Halo reach had a good launch but it jsut didnt change enough for people to keep playing it.

Actually that means the community is not as big as it use to be,not that is small insignificant or something like that,no one can't say that Halo Reach doesn't have healthy community or that it has low numbers or no one play that is a joke,what the thread started claimed is that the actual numbers are getting lower by the week,which is right is lower each week.

Considering this is a Halo game it should keep its numbers steady for some time and then start to decrease,but those numbers are getting lower way faster than they should,i haven't see a major nelson live activity report for the month of october,but i would not be surprise to know that they are not posting it because MW2 on 360 already beat Halo Reach again on the top spot.

I also found incredible that MW games had get so big that the PS3 version is actually getting more players than Halo Reach is.

I don't need any examples. The 360 has one, Halo 3 - then Halo Reach, thanks ONLY to M$ marketting. It isn't that good...every gamer knows TF2 on PC is where it's at for unrealistic, team based, FPS.

just wait until they get out of Armor lock. Throwing gernades at them is stupid and getting too close would just hurt you more when the get out of Armor Lock. Just stay at a good distance and aim for the head and start shooting when they get out.

I don't have a problem with armor locks,i have a problem more with the fact that you can't sprint and use the jet pack is either one or the other,and not aiming down the side with the several weapons,and the fact that to kill some one you have to hit it with tons of shots.

Maybe people are, in general, growing bored with the franchise? Or, maybe, the core Halo fanbase doesn't appreciate the changes made for Reach, and subsequently went back to Halo 3?

Reach wins on the Xbox. MW2 only gets huge numbers on PS3 cause none of the other "popular" shooters have spectacular numbers

Huge PS3 exclusives KZ2,UC2, Resistance etc, all get pretty average numbers, so COD is obviously cleaning up.

no it doesnt, Halo reach now has only a maximum if 200,000-230,000 playing at a time, when it used to be 400,000-500,000. The problem is declining numbers, people getting tired of the bland maps, 1/3 of the mpas Bungie shipped were effing FORGE MAPS FAIL!!! Seriously I cant beleive I effing pai 60 dollars for this trash. Its not balanced, the fact that a team can spawn with armor lock (the ability to not die/avoid dying, invisibility encourages camping, jetpacks allow for expliots out of the map which happen often in Big team games. Bungie isn't doing **** about either becasue of "OMG next gen game OMG!!" The reticule bloom is awful, it doesn't work ina game like Halo, if this were COD or counterstrike were you can die from 2 bullets then yes bloom is fine but when the assault rifle can barely drop sheilds WHY the **** is BLOOM in there!!! Quake never did it, UT neer did it, tribes never did it, the last 3 Halo titles didnt do it, so why now?? seriously they say "oo for balancing issues" but then they add the ability to be invisible whenever you want?? yeah real smart Bungie real smart.
