We know very well what Microsofts definition of 'True 4k' is.
Higher than Sony's definition of 4k! Already has more true 4k than any other console.
That's not true.
@Zero_epyon: At least try to hide your bias a little better. :)
lol what? Halo 5 runs with a dynamic scaler on Xbox One. Are they going to lock 4K or are they going to let the scaler go up and drop when it gets heavy? It's a legit question. Especially when they say "We’ll have more to share on this front as we get closer to release, so stay tuned." So there's going to be clarification.
Also they made some compromises for Xbox One like half frame animations. They should be able to upgrade that with X1X.
1.3 TFLOPS x 4 = 5.2 TFLOPS. X1X has 6 TFLOPS.
When TFLOPS are not bound by memory bandwidth, Polaris GCN's 6 TFLOPS is like 6.9 TFLOPS GCN version 1.1.
Alternatively, AMD is effectively stating, GCN version 1.1's TFLOPS is actually about +15 percent less than the marketing TFLOPS numbers e.g.
R9-390X's 5.9 TFLOPS is effectively 5.01 TFLOPS.
XBO's 1.31 TFLOPS is effectively 1.11 TFLOPS.
PS4's 1.84 TFLOPS is effectively 1.56 TFLOPS.
No Halo 2? Isn't original XBOX BC coming soon (part of the reason I bought Crimson Skies early)?
Only game announced for XBOX OG BC is Crimson Skies, as far as I know. They may or may not make Halo 2 BC at some point, but even if they did, it would only be for the single player portion of the game as the Halo 2 XBL servers shut down a long time ago....you can still play Halo 2 online via MCC though.

Seriously though what does any of that have to do with anything.

You are arguing X1X doesn't have performance head room to convert XBO's 1600x900 into 4K.

I'm not arguing anything dude. I'm only wondering what they're going to use the extra power for besides uping the resolution. Relax...
And Halo doesn't even run at 900p. It runs 1080p and drop to ~1300X1080.

MS effectively selected "6 TFLOPS" to get Halo 5 into 4K.
@Zero_epyon: I don't know but I suspect they might go with dynamic just because they made it a point before that Halo 5 was from inception, a 60 fps game. That was one of their core visions for the gameplay and it is something they cannot mess with now, especially with all the Esports stuff.
If they lock the 4K then that would allow for the possibility of frame drops with tons of action happening, and that is unacceptable for me. They should lock 60fps and make the res dynamic if necessary. Hopefully, just like Forza, they have overhead and even if they do lock at 60 fps the game will remain 4K native the majority of the time. I like how the game looks, but I wouldn't call it a graphically intensive game so I don't think there will be too many hurdles with the X1X patch.
@kvally: lol halo 5 is not 1080p.
"Image quality: While the dynamic resolution system is impressive, the reality is that the game spends the overwhelming majority of its time well under full 1080p. When combined with sparse anti-aliasing coverage this often results in scenes exhibiting aliasing and blurring artefacts simultaneously. This is further impacted by limited texture filtering, smearing surface textures at oblique angles. In fact, the selected texture filtering has a stronger impact on overall presentation than resolution."

I really don't believe any console will be doing true stable 4k any time soon, I dunno maybe 5 years from now. There's no way something below 3hz is doing and doing it well. I swear this is like the shady tv manufacturers hiding the tv refresh rate behind fancy words like motion flow rate(sony) or lg's trumotion. I's all a ploy to sell 4k tvs faster

Wow. I don't get why you're so defensive. Nobody is saying Halo 5 isn't capable of 4K.

As of two months ago:
https://www.gamespot.com/forums/system-wars-314159282/ps4-pro-4k-native-games-33388884/
29 Native 4k games on that list. maybe about 26-27. That's not including games that dynamically scale to 4K or games that render 4K geometry only.
How many confirmed native 4K games does X1X have?

Exactly. Which makes his comment that X1X "Already has more true 4k than any other console." untrue.
