Halo vs.Mario which is king

I have a person that posted in forum: (g-cube vs XBOX which would u rather have) that halo is morepopular than mario. I know that some people will say that Halo is better but come on man. Even hardcore XBOX fans have to admit that Mario is more poular than HAlo. And if the certain person that i am talking about is reading this he has to post I will count up how many said mario and halo and post the results as a last message because i somehow cannot make a poll

I have SMG, actually. Super Mario World or SMB3 was muc, much better than Galaxy though.

I wish Nintendo would just make a new 2D mario, featuring the good ol Super Nintendo graphics. They were really creative with the games in the 90s... and after playing Galaxy it's obvious the creativity is still there... I would like to see them apply that to a classic style Mario.

master Chief has the biggest impact of any single game icon in such a short amount of time though. Only 3 Halo games and look how popular he is. Last game has largest first day sales in entertainment. So larger sales then Spider Man and harry Potter movies. Master Chief is pretty darn impressive for only 3 games.

I'm not saying it is not an original character/history, but Mario is much less generic (an "italian" plumper that saves a princess from a giant turtle/dinosaur with help of... mushrooms)

Mario is obviously more popular. Anyone can enjoy a Mario game but it takes a gamer to enjoy a Halo game.
