I must say, Halo Wars looks to be shaping up quite well. I play quite a few RTSs on my. I realized that RTSs could work on the 360 with c&c3 and bfme2 (demos- i have them on pc).

But what's really impressing me about halo wars: It's halo.

For example, a warthog beats grunts and elites but a banshee will beat it. You can splatter enemies with a wathog. You can board enemy vehicles.

Basically what I'm saying is that it looks very much like Halo but in RTS form. Should be very interesting.

I did enjoy ensembles recent games (although AoE3 was a disappointment imo)

For the record, it's not resource gathering. Think more so World in Conflict over Command and Conquer.

To be honest, when I pictured a halo rts, I imagined the warthogs and ghosts in huge fights running into things and what not like in Halo, I was a bit disappointed by that, but it still looks like a fine RTS

I really think this should appear on PC instead. And no, I don't even own a gaming PC, I just think it makes more sense. Unless you could plug a mouse and keyboard into the system.

Coming from someone who basically got their pc for RTSs, they actually do control quite well on consoles. BFME revolutionized it, C&C3 fleshed it out, Halo Wars should make it better.

Endwar won't be the control scheme- no one wants to play by voice long term

I wonder when the hermits come in and start saying that console RTS blow to the master PC race lol.

But yeah, Halo wars looks like another solid title in the Halo Universe.

Honestly, World in Conflict Soviet Assault looks much better than this. This is multiplat too and I don't understand on why this is being overlooked.

Maybe I'm just a weirdo here, but to me, theme is extremely important in an RTS. Reason I like BFME2 and C&C3 over CoH.
World in Conflict, while it is unique, I just find the whole theme boring.

I'm very intrigued and can't hardly wait till the game is complete so we can see, once & for all, does this game with the word Halo in it's title - deliver the goods.

I'm sorta betting it will ! :D

I'd like for it to work. Making RTS that are as deep and fun as PC ones would be epic on consoles. It's the only genre i like on the PC over the console version of it.

yes i noticed that the marines can't walk and shoot at the same time and that the grunts don't throw grenades to blow up scores of tightly packed marines and that the grunts shoot needlers which are suppposed to make them explode and that spartans should never die because it's stupid for them to remain in the vehicles they boarded if their health is low and that for some reason i was underwhelmed by how exciting i was expecting it to be after having experienced the joy of the halo FPS soundtracks which halo wars did not appear to have so really it was quite dull and the damage ratio made it very boring and un-haloey as well... in the FPSes 2 mortars take out a tank... on halo wars 10.

so i am dissapointed with the haloey-ness in it. :(

c&c3 really nailed down controls for console rts and the expansion was even better. for micromanaging you can make groups and pretty much instantly select the group or all units of a type etc. i cant see any controls being better than c&c3 kanes wrath for console rts.
