Harcore gamers: Can you admit that...

you're not superb at a certain genre? I'm not very good at stealth games, just don't have the patience required to be successful at it. I'll sneak around a bit, get caught and then try to shoot my way out of a situation which never works.

I don't think I qualify as hardcore, but I'll answer anyway.

Suck at shooters and rhythm games. I can hold my own in most other genres.

Probably Flight sims, not really my genre but I always seem to find away to crash and burn.

I'm not really "bad" at any genera.

I would have to say Driving games are my weak point though. I have a hard time judging G thresholds without actually feeling the feedback on the controller or inertia.

Depending on your definition I'm not sure if I qualify as hardcore, but there are a lot of games I can admit to being bad at. Strategy, RTS, and as you say I don't have the patience for most stealth games. I don't even like short stealth-based sections in non-stealth games. However I do (mostly) like Assassin's Creed, but thats not really traditional stealth.

Most online games...It seems I am good enoght to beat a game but when playing others I never do so well. But then again I don't play online very much there always to many games I own which I have yet to have time to play.HarlockJC

Yeah thats usually my experience with online games too, I can't think of one I've been really good at since the original Quake. I usually only like multiplayer when there are modes just dedicated to random chaos, which makes me wonder why I haven't given some of GTA IV's multiplayer modes a try.

im not a fan of RTS's. Rome Total War wsa the biggest waste of $20 for me. i palyed for liek 5 hours and got soooo bored. but i did enjoy world in conflict demo.BTBAM127

I am good when I play friends but online I suck. But I still enjoy playing online Halo sometimes even if I am not that good. But I like the modes with the most players at one time the best.

I can not play RPG's.

At all. My eyes would blead from so much text. The freaking SAT has less text. War and Peace has less text.

I suck at RPGs, fighters, and racing games.

I am amazing at RTS, FPS, RPG, Stealth, Action, pretty much any game. I am a gamer, I am good at all games. My friends always like watching me just play RTS games because aparently I do some crazy good stuff. They've been playing this 1 rts for a year or so, and I just started and I am already better than them.

I don't know what it is, but I pick up pretty much any game very easily. RTS and FPS are definately my best games. Mostly because I basically only play online games.

Oh wait, I don't like fighters. I don't suck at them, I just don't enjoy (most of) them.eonape

You think to highly of your self.... you seem to defend the fact that your nearly the greatest at any genre.... sorry but your not, i dont mean to kick you off of your pedastal ( well actually i do) but its ok not to be the greatest at things... im fairly good at FPS and RPG games but thats about it... so no your not that good at every game... i can just tell.

rts, jrpg, rhythm games, football games, hand held games, just isn't my cup of tea.

The only genre I am not good at is the one I haven't played ever in my life... SHMUPs... but hopefully if I can find a Saturn that will change.foxhound_fox

I'm not very good at FPS

I suck at:

• RPGs - I never cared enough to play an RPG for 45 minutes.
• Rhythm Games - Guitar Hero/Rock Band are too much for me (despite being a Rock/Metal fan), also I'm not crazy about this genre.
• Football (American) Games/Basketball games - I'm only decent against the CPU, but against veteran Madden/NBA2K fanatics, forget it.

I pretty good at games in general, I seem to grip them quickly, but there are games seem to drag more like Realism Racing Games and maybe various sporting games like Football. I rock at arcade racers, but when come to the technical stuff, eh..

TC I'm the same as you, but I wouldn't say it makes us bad at stealth games, I just don't see the fun in waiting around for ages, I can do it because I completed MGS3 and I like Sniper Elite which is pretty sneaky, but some games like Splinter Cell are just boring to me. I don't see the fun in standing around waiting for someone to follow the same pattern until he gets where I want him...

Same with RTS where you have to collect stuff and build factories to make grain to feed your troops and make armour shops and crap like that, I just don't have the patience or willpower to play for 2 hours basically doing nothing collecting supplies before I can even doo anything to progress.

Im pretty good at every game I play, the only ones that seem to give me a little bit of trouble are the games that have the quick flash icon to press a certain button like resident evil 4 , god of war. I beat them but I be dying from thos type of games because my reaction timing is pretty off with those type games. Thats prolly the only little weakness I have in games.

Funny thing some guy in here made a thread saying that xbox live users are more advanced then psn users. Since im a guy that loves challenges I went out and got my xbox live account to see for myself since I use to be ranked 4th in overall kills on PSN in Call of Duty 4 but ever since I stopped playing it because I got bored of owning people and went on to play raibow six vegas 2 and it was alot of fun but I got the game late so yeah enjoyed it for a bit but then MGO beta came along and stopped playing RSV2 and been missing MGO ever since the beta has been over and then beat GTA4.

Finally I decided to go get call of duty 4 for my xbox to see or this guy who wrote the thread was being honest. So I got it, jumped in free for all and came in second beating out 2 golden cross guys but another guy who was on his 5th prestige won the game and they were like, this guy aint a noob, he must of made a new xbox live account and I laughed and said, I use to be ranked number 4 in kills on the ps3 version but its been a while since I played this game and they all laughed at me saying whatever dude, your so full of it, lol. So I said well lets just see who wins the next 4 matches and then we can see who is full of it. Well I scrape the crap out of these guys and I was using the m16 those next 4 matches and I won all of them and guess what happened? They were like damn dude I guess u werent bull shi**ing and asked for a friends request, lol. I think the level of play on PSN and Xbox Live are the same, the only differences is on xbox live there are more people with mics, so it gives them an edge because they communicate with there team. I just hate running into those on there who are like little 7 year olds always saying u suck and they always come in last in kills lol. Yeah but anyone want to add me and test your skills, feel free to add me. :)

i hate RTSs and racing sims (non-realistic racers like f-zero and mario kart are fun though)

i also don't like jrpgs, or anything with turn-based combat (i can just about bare pokemon) .. i hate random battles too

How can anyone suck at WoW??? MMO's especially WoW are so easy. I know there are plenty of sucky WoW players though.... I've ran into many of them.

Ugh.... for me.... a genre I suck at???? Ummm..... honestly none..... there are genres I don't enjoy, such as "Xtreme Sports" & "Stealth" games..... but RTS, FPS, RPG, Racing I'd have to say I'm pretty good at all of them..... not the best mind you.... the only game where I'm certain of my superiority is Goldeneye..... but I accredit that to not having enough money when I was in college to buy as many games as I'd have liked.

I majorly SUCK at Real-Time Strategy.
