[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"][QUOTE="getyeryayasout"] Sure, as long as storage space is a limitation, I'll stick with disks.getyeryayasout
You could always buy a bigger HDD. I doubt any of your disks accumulate to such storage space.

You're right about that, but do you really not "get" my point?

I suppose I don't. Elaborate.

I like hard copies because I don't really feel as though I really 'own' the game if it's digital. Weird, but I'm there's some of you who know what I mean.

Cheesehead9099
I feel the same. I sometimes almost actually forget about my games on steam because when I look up onto the shelf next to me and decide what game to play, it's not there, so it doesn't register that I own it XD.

Hard copy for consle games and digital copy for PC games most of the time.TheGuardian03
This... all of my pc games are digital, all my ps3 games on hard copies. I dont really like game boxes, they all so diffrent from each other. uk version, us version, 3 in 1 version (like dragon age ultimate edition), etc... Its such a hassle. Its so simple when its digital.

[QUOTE="GunSmith1_basic"]it really doesn't matter since in the future all games will be streamed and we won't own a copy, digital or physicalAgentA-Mi6
And i dread of that future, I'll most liktely quit gaming out of sheer frustration. I'll leave that for future generations (of people not of gaming systems lol).

what's not to love? It will be cheaper, easier and you'll always have the latest tech. All we need is for streaming to be improved and that day is coming faster than we might think. I envision that we will have a period where we have streaming and owning (like we have in the movie industry now with netflix), but that streaming service will slowly grow and grow until one day every major game dev will switch to it for ease, cost, and the complete annihilation of piracy.

And when a service goes under, you lose all your games. Or if you can't conform to their community rules, you lose all your games. Or if they decide some games arent worth having on the server anymore, then you lose those games.

And what if you want to play somewhere that doesn't have an Internet connection?

200T was an exaggeration, I game on consoles and deleting and re-downloading games to work around space constraints blows. That's why I want massive storage, storage so big I don't have to worry about it. Of course if I COULD have a 200T Hdd, well that'd just be gravy. :P

Pretty much what happens if you use your PS3 or X360 as a media system and not only as a gaming system...

With a 3Tb disk, there's no way your going to run into problems your mentionned... keep the games you play most, delete the ones you'll never play again.

I used to say I'd never get into Digital Music or movies, and now, that's all I get. Same way for games, except some of my favorites, like GTA games or Blizzard games I'll get hard copies.

Yea, consoles do have space constraints, especially due to the proprietary hardware. Still, doesn't the PS3 somewhat fix this issue?

I cannot, for the life of me, understand people who want their console titles on hard copy but prefer digital for PC. Im assuming you all can see the advantages of a digital-only ecosystem? Dont have to worry about discs at all, one button and press and you're playing the game, updates happen automagically in the background, etc.

Why would you NOT want that for your console as well?

XaosII
Personally, I don't trust Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo to allow me to play them forever.

If you buy from steam you get a product license code with every game. Copy and paste it into Notepad. Print it. Hold it. Profit. :P

Hard copy for my 360, and digital for my PSP. The thing I love about digital is that 1 game can emcompass 4 other PSPs. So me and some other friends basically share an account and own a bunch of games together. (We split the games cost in 3's which makes games much cheaper).

It depends to me. If a game is free or it is very cheap then it would be digital like for example I got the Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 from Steam because Valve had the sweet deal for them where they werecheap together then instead of thehard copy of Left 4 Dead 2 onlywhich costs way more then 1 and 2 together from steamand also Infamous from the ps3 as a digital copy as well since I got for free in that Welcome back thing Sony did. But when it comes to a game where the price is just a much as digital, even if it is slightly more expensive then I rather have the hard copies instead.

If the game is priced $14.99 to $19.99 then I have no problem downloading it if I don't think there is any resale value to be had from the game

If the game is priced $29.99 and above then I HAVE to buy a retail copy of the game.

Prefer a retail copy. But, in the end, doens't really matter to me. Long as I get the game.

I want a hard copy with a way to install it on the hard drive and not need the disk to play it. I would be happy with having to pay a few bucks to make it install to hdd and not need disk to run it.

Or maybe something like you have the hard copy that comes with a registration code and you register it and you can then install to drive and not need the disk to run it. But if you sale your disk the next person cant install jt to drive without paying a few sort of lik the online passss they got now. Idk I just want a hard copy and not need the disk to run it.I

On PC, digital copies for western games (steam, gamersgate, gog, etc), hard copies for eastern games.

There are tons of western games that cannot be played with a just hard copy (DOW retribution, fall of samurai, etc. By this I mean when I install the game, the game discs are not even used.), so now I pretty much quit buying physical copies for western games on pc. Not to mention the holiday price drops..

I'm not really a collector, so It doesn't matter to me. I prefer digital though, as long as it's DRM free.
