Just look at how much we support and cherish the industry not causuals. We go out of our way to give honest legit reviews about possible bad games. Fair andbalanced are the key words. We put McShea to McShame. We take into account every detail of these products, multiplayer and singleplayer, and leave bias at the door. How many casuals only play multiplayer?

We further support the devs by buying DLC. In return the devs give us more worthwhile DLC on launch day for the day one buyers. Countlesscore gamers have helped Capcom and other companies with palette swap DLC and map packs. What better way to show we care? Playing on a new map witha different colored gun has provided a worthwhile experience and I'm sick of some gamers in here trying to kill such a good thing. Stop trying to kill the future of gaming. If you support gaming buy DLC.

The absolute best thing we have gotten behind this gen is trophies/achievements. Casuals certainly don't see the challenge of being on top and the spirit of competition.Hardcore gamers know a game without trophies doesn't offer a full experience. I have 20 platinums myself.

We only support the best games with our money.Look at Okami and Beyond Good and Evil. Those franchises would have been dead without us. Look at Okami'ssuccess. I'm tired of this rant that we only support sequels or remakes, we don't.I make a pledge as a hardcoe gamer I swear to support this industry. To show devs only the hardcore are worth listening to. I'm sure other gamers in here will agree. Our word means something.

Sometimes I wonder if you're trying too hard. And yet... there's an air of wit about this OP.

You really thought this troll attempt through, didn't you? :P

Agreed, Hardcore Gamers saved the industry from being awesome, instead they turned it to crp. At least PC and Nintendo Fans still have some sense, glad we can agree Barsy(A.K.A My Nintendbro)

I'm not a fan of Nintendont or should I say Nintendud. They are stuck in the past and refuse to embrace the future. Honestly how is offering new stuff, DLC, bad? The industry is better than it has ever been and will be better with Nintendo gone.

Agreed, we're not Fans of Nintendo, we're SUPERFans. Nintendo stuck in the past offering us real hardcore Video Games Unlike MS and Sony who wipe their balls on anything Online and Unfun. Man Barsy, I think you may take over Charizard as Sheep of the Year

I don't see how getting behind achievements/trophies makes anyone hardcore. In my opinion a hardcore gamer would be purely concerned with the game itself, and meaningless things like achievements would be forgotten.

The people who claim they are 'hardcore'are usually holding back the industry and always throwing cynicism at every new idea for gaming that comes out.

You're wrong. It adds so much depth to games the past generations never had. It is not meaningless in the slightest when you have more trophies than your friends.

Agreed, So much more Depth, unfortunately it's being used on crappy 360 and PS3 Games. Since Nintendo usually does things better than Sony and MS We can agree that if Nintendo did something like achievements they'd perfect it like they perfect everything.

I know I'm hardcore. Every time I get shot in a video game I shoot myself in the leg with a bb gun in real life! Its a bit tough to do in real time, so I just have one of my equally hardcore friends keep count. Then we go out in the yard and unload bbs on my leg at the end of the night. It does wonders for my strive to be a better competitive gamer.

I used to do something similar for fighting games, but eventually no company had the balls to insure me anymore. Damn casual insurance providers.

Oh so Call of Duty/Battlefield are real games and Mario isn't?

What makes Mario not a real game? That it doesn't have massive photorealism? That it doesn't have inane plots full of Russian bad dudes with hilarious accents? That it's filled with a sense of joy and fun without the pretention that it is realistic? That it doesn't rely on '64 players' and 'massive battlefields' and 'next gen graphics' and all that crap?

How does it add depth? Other than serving as a way to show off to friends (but yet, I really don't think many people care about their friend's trophy levels), all they really have a player do is complete meaningless tasks. Most achievements consist of complete "x" level (which you would do anyway) on a certain difficulty, get a number of kills, collect however many meaningless items, etc. Achievements do not add depth in any way.

But it still doesn't add depth. Forcing a player to get an achievement by making them attain a number of kills with a weapon isn't creating depth. It just forces the player to use bad weapons they normally wouldn't use.

I thought you liked Nintendo?

He doesn't. He loves them (Which is why I don't want to borrow his Wii anymore)

Vari3ty

Yes they do. Players now engage the game in a way they would never have done before. I would never have used every weapon in my games if it wasn't for trophies.

But it still doesn't add depth. Forcing a player to get an achievement by making them attain a number of kills with a weapon isn't creating depth. It just forces the player to use bad weapons they normally wouldn't use.

That does create depth cause now players have to find out how not to suck with the weapon. They have to strategize.

I hate the term hardcore gamer, just makes me conjure an image people like this:

"I come home every night after a hard day of being a BADASS and sit down and I hit my head with a can of BOURBON because i'm so HARDCORE. Then I turn on my PC by PUNCHING it, then try and PRY A TIGERS PAWS off the case for BATTLEFIELD 3 before LAUNCHING it into the disc drive because I'm so HARDCORE."

Oh noes! Barsy7 help me. I don't think I'm a Hardcore gamer! My most played game this Gen was on the Wii, and my top 10 consisted of mostly PC and Wii games, only 2 of them were on PS3, and 1 on 360! How do I become hardcore? Play the games you like?!

Sales do not equal quality. It only applies to hardcore games. CoD sells millions cause it is quality. If you haven't noticed the wii is on life support.

Wait, so you say sales do not equal quality, and then go on to say COD sells millions because it is quality? You just contradicted yourself.

Agreed, which is why we only count Wii and PC Game sales, because they're the only systems me and Barsy like.
