Has any game this year rivaled Mass Effect 2?

Played em all, Bayonetta, Red Dead, Alan Wake, even tried SMG2 a bit.

Nothing came close to ME2. Lots of gameplay, tons of replayability, music, action, story, it has everything. On my fourth playthrough right now. My GotY so far. Agree, or what's your GotY so far?

I agree that ME2 is one of the greatest games this year, and possilby one of the greatest sequels in history.

My pick is between ME2 and God of War 3. Both were amazing titles. We'll have to wait til the end of the year, but as of now, I'd agree that Mass Effect 2 is the top notch game of 2010 so far.

Red Dead was a close call too, just beat it and it was epic.

Mass Effect 2 is my top game this gen.

There are games that are more fun (Super Mario Galaxy), but ME2 has has a fantastic cast, presentation, gameplay, and an epic/hilarious campaign depending on whether it is played as a Paragon/Renegade Shepard. It's the perfect game. :)

Personally I agree, ME2 was great, an almost perfect game, and if it wasn't for the tedious mining for minerals it would have been a perfect game. It should be GOTY for sure, at least so far this year.

ME2 isn't even in my top 5 for this year... I enjoyed Bayonetta, RDR, SMG2, Heavy Rain, and Yakuza 3 more. The game is still fairly short when you look at it from a standpoint of purely main story content, music is completely forgetable, the action is alright but I hate TPS games, story did nothing special even when it was going on. The one thing I will admit ME2 does very well is building a universe, I just don't think they've done much from there. 110million

Uh oh Cows will have nothing after that, and I haven't played SMG2 yet so yes ME2 is the best game this year IMO.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the highest rated game this generation.

Lol @ ME2 with replayability. I got bored after four playthroughts. The first ME had much more replayability.

Red Dead Redemption comes close, but otherwise, no.

While I think SMG2 will win GOTY too, don't count on it. It's never a sure thing.

Probably FFXIII. I put 92 hours into that game to platinum it, and I still wanted more. ME2 was also very good and so was 3D dot heroes.

took me 24hours to complete the mainstory missions, the perfect lenght for me

Alan Wake, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Super Mario Galaxy 2 hold their own against the juggernaut.

It's my fav game so far this year. RDR is second, GOW III third, Alan Wake 4th and BC2 5th

I enjoyed ME2 and AW almost equally. Compelling stories with excellent gameplay. Thats a very rare find in todays games.

It's my favorite game this year, that's for sure.

With the ME2 experience, I don't think so, none yet.

SMG2 rivals it, Ill decide at the end of the year which is better since SMG2 needs to age a little before a comparison is fair :P.

SMG2 and RDR scored higher, i personaly would say NMH2 and Bayonetta where close and RDR and SMG beat it, but ME2 is clearly in the top 5

At the moment it's probably my GOTY, but Starcraft II comes out very soon....

GoW3 surpased it, HR, RDR, and AW are all up there too.

ME2 is up there with RDR and Peace Walker for games that I've loved this year.
