nope not many games are at zelda and halo status. i would so GTA is in the same league, but now thats multiplat. but now ur gonna get the zelda flopped group any minute. even though its AAA on gamerankings which means it averages AAA through 100 reviews. which means its not a flop. also it sold very well on both the cube and wii.

That's the reaction of a bunch of ppl, that are most likely related to gaming journalism. Zelda is not as mainstream as you think. And you think a lot of ppl know Halo outside of the gaming world? You must be kidding yourself.

really zelda isnt mainstream considering wind waker sold a bunch of copies so did twilight princess which in some ways is selling the wii. its a big time game. and ofcourse no body outside of gaming knows of halo that well. only 2 games come to mind if u put it that way. Mario because hes old and a classic. and GTA but thats because its so controversial

True, but EVERYONE knows Mario.

That's my point, other games are way more broadly know and considered mainstream than those like , Mario, GTA, Final Fantasy, Pokemon, even many sport and racing games are.

Yea, these games sold a bunch of copies but in reallity many of those games were bought by fans, and you think Zelda TP would have sold as ''well'' as it did if Nintendo hadn't pull all the delays to release it as a Wii launch game? If we go by games sold, Gran Turismo is on of the most popular and mainstream games ever.

SMB did that way before these games. Zelda and Halo 2 were both widely anticipated within the community and outside of it. Casual and hardcore gamers were excited, but they didnt really expand gaming to the world. Maybe they helped their console user base grow, but they didnt expand the market.

    Grand Theft Auto was not a Sony game, but it was exclusive for quite a bit and it had a great reaction.
    MGS does all the time.
    Jak and Dexter is a critical favorite.

When the MGS4 trailer was shown at E306, the entire surrounding area stopped moving for 15 minutes.

And this happened nearly every time it was shown.

Actually Zelda is not as mainstream as you might think. Its more adored by the hardcore crowd, then the casuals.
