They were all PC games first, so the servers are already there and in place. Same with DC Online and FF XIV. You probably don't need PS+ for those games either

I wouldn't use steam as a "good guy free service" champion anyway... their are CONSTANTLY priced higher than competititors... why? because they have more services and marketshare to cover.

But F*ck off you are paying as much as console gamers on steam 90% of the time for brand new games. Hell, my monthly games rental service for my PS4/PS Vita is cheaper per game than any steam deals I get that are even remotely new.

Steam is an appailing example in other aspects... its a shop... which happens to have some gaming features that have taken 10 years to appear and still lacks a great deal of its own gaming related features (e.G still no built in video record/stream) .... you still require many 3rd party softwares... it does not unify PC gaming as a whole. its workshop functionallity hasn't improved an ounce since its announcement (STILL CANT UNSUBSCRIBE FROM ALL MODS WITH ONE CLICK ... teh f*ck?).

Its a friggin digital store with some nice extras and some I guess "1st party games" of its own. it does nowhere near as much as PSN or XBOX LIVE, it does not have to fund additional services or anything, not even close to the same league.

That being said ... wiht PSN .... I get what 30 games a year free..... some are even 1st party games, good 3rd party and good indie .... considering the hypocrit hermits here that "hate deals" are all up in arms about paying this is laughable.

Yes the MP paywall is a nusance.... but you don't JUST get acess to MP with that cost. you get common updates, more services, games, customer service (SOMETHING STEAM IS CRAP AT.....)

I think its just the policy on PSN. Doesn't matter if the servers are available. its

1) free2play is ok without PS+

2) Retail games is decided by the developer/publisher.

E.G FFXIV: ARR is playable without PSN+ by choice of Square-Enix... Sony does not force them like Microsoft does. Square want as much exposure as possible, they figured this would potentially help... since its a sub based game, they know people will be annoyed with additional monthly costs.

Isnt this pretty obvious? PSN+ is required for online play, Sony said so when the revealed Ps4, cant be more clear than that

PS+ is worth it's asking price all day every day, especially when you purchase 12 months. Between my PS3 and PS4 I get so many free games, I might as well be the mayor.

That would be wrong then. Mercenary Kings was the latest game for April delivered on April 1st. Not sure what idiot in a comments section said that, but I would wager it's an agenda of misinformation if it's not just a moron posting.

So far, six games have been given to PS+ users since launch. That's six more free games to play than I got for Xbone. M$ need to step their game up, they have the most expensive machine released and the Xbox Live Service is pricier. They need to get Games for Gold on Xbone pronto. I know it would give me a reason to turn on the Xbone in the meantime.
