Ok, so I know there are all these dumb thread I have been trying to avoid about random crap comparisons between the PS3 and 360 and how the 360 haz no games yet all the PS3 exclusives flop, and the fact that because in 2011 Xbox has lack of exclusives it never had exclusive at all and etc. etc, insert ignorance here.
Now while I am a PS3 owner Ieven I have a TERRIBLE problem trying to figure out what Sony actually accomplished with the PS3 this gen.
IN TOTAL it's last in games.
IN TOTAL, it's last in amount of games sold IN TOTAl.
World Wide sales IN TOTAL it's last place.
It lost over HALF it's market share.
It tries desperately to earn profit from it's games so badly we get 4 entries into one series in under 5 years.
It requires you to install certain games unlike the competiton where you just put the game in and go.
PSN has less games IN TOTAL.
PSN has terrible security that Sony already knew about but gnored.
PSN is slow.
PSN has a terrible classic game selection and exclusive game collection library.
PSN has a birthday password crack (Wtf?)
The Playstation move has failed their expectations.
The Playstation move Exclusive titles are actually almost all forgotten by many websites.
They have many 1st party studios and all are making that one game series that is profitable.
Long development time for Gran Tourismo, promising things the game never delivered with its 5th entry and dthe game did not gain as much traction for the brand as it did for Sony's other consoles.
Playstation 3's later got rid of PS2 compatibility. That's actually a negative.
PSN has a very short list of PSone downloads
PS3 constantly has been said to outdue the others in graphics, yet almost all gen it was "HA! This machine can't do this!" then it does and then it goes back around in a circle till currently, the Xbox 360 is actually ahead this time.
Sony lied about the untapped hidden magic of the Cell. Er, TEH cell.
Sony Launched at a ridicoulous price point so far off I am still wondering what they were smoking. Even with Brand power that was a bad move.
Sony PS3 slims have some dic reading problems with older games. Also, no PS2 B/C either.
PS3's web browser is as slow as the one on the PSP and that's a problem.
They lost money this whole gen pretty much untilr recently.
They lost crapillion on the PSN hacking.
They act like they have not lost any money this gen by throwing around money for studios and exclusives. Which in turn all make that one series.
They admmitted the PS4 was a long way away based on the fact that they pretty much indirectly admitted the screwed up massively finance wise.
Terribly slow Blu-ray drive.
Failed 3D TV PS3 bundle.
ETC. ETC, ETC.
The only thing I have seen is Sony succeeding (with the PS3) to prove Blu-ray was more powerful than HD-DVD. Which even then, was not by much to the point where people don't really care much for blu-ray anymore and even downloaded movies look better now.
That's the one success I have seen the PS3 do. I know a lot of people prefer the PS3 over the 360, thinks it has better games and all, but what factual thing has Sony actually SUCCEEDED in with the PS#? Help me out here, I got nothing.
