I'm never sold/not sold until I physically play a game. No amount of video can replace the experience of playing it for yourself. I'll try ARMS and see if I like it. :-)
Depends the genre. For example ive watched before lengthy gameplays thru streaming or youtube videos of games i was so-so about them and i could tell wasnt for me after an hour or so of watching . One of those was No mans Sky for example.
I was like " Boooring , this is not for me at all "
In heavy gameplay games though like Fighting games or FPS etc , you cant tell easily if its for you or not so you better try a demo or play it yourself.
Yeah, I guess it depends what you mean by "sold on a game". I can watch something and be interested or not, sure. But my ultimate verdict on a game can only be reached by physically playing it myself.
What you doing is the best thing to do , i agree. Though there are some games that i dont trust reviewers that much so i go and watch lengthy playthoughs thru Streamers . For example i did that with No Mans Sky . I could tell that game is not for me at all from those gameplay sessions alone. In fact i was able to score it and tell its flaws from those live sessions as well without even touch the game myself haha.
But i understand what you saying and what you doing is the best thing to do hands down.
