Have We Seen The Last Of Twisted Metal?

Delete if old but when this was 1st revealed at E3 2010, I was not impressed. I also later found out that this game was orginally attended to be a PSN only game and it it showed from the gameplay videos I seen.

I thought the demo was a disaster which resulted turn offs from potential buyers.

Isn't the game still having online server issues?

I never was able to get online not even once. It has a solid sp game but without the mp I feel I paid too much for the game (although I did get a digital copy of Twisted Metal Black that came with the game).

I still haven't tried it. But I want to.

I do think it was kinda doa because combat racers aren't so popular anymore.

Well I had the chance to buy from Best Buy for $20 and still passed. That should explain everything!

I hope not. With another Twisted Metal next gen they can fix the mistakes they made in the PS3 version and also add more content.

I like Twisted Metal, it's game play is very fast and fun, it's great. I hope they keep making the series.

The issue though with this one is the online, it has matchmaking issues and it can be a pain in the ass to get into a match sometimes. I still recommend the game, but not at full price, wait for the price to drop a bit. The SP is too short and the online is too iffy to justify paying full price for. It was a bit of a let down.

Which is disappointing as the core game play is so fun. I just play it with friends in split screen mode.

No, It sold a reasonable amount (topped charts the month it came out at 300,000) and was originally intended to be released for 20$ or less so the budget was alot smaller. Must of actually made a killing profit wise.

Thing is, it stuck at 300,000 and slowly died due to the lack of support and fvcked up matchmaking. David Jaffe can go fvck himself.

It's ironic that his wishlist feature on next gen consoles is instant gaming: that when you turn on the console, the game instantly loads, no logos, no connecting,nothing.

And yet Twisted Metal had several unskippable logos, required connecting to the database which often failed and not being able to find a ranked match.

Hopefully not. Aside from the awful story mode and network issues, the last one was a ton of fun.

Game was facing problems since the get go, tons of bugs, and a questionable direction. I think it just exposes David Jaffe, who imo, is one of the most overrated developers (and that is his doing) out their. Above all, the team was facing low morality throughout the development according to Jaffe which had a high impact on the final product. I can believe it but the game should have been something far different--people just want a well polished classic TM game.

I doubt it, but I don't think many would care.

Seeing as I had not played any of the PS2 games I was looking forward to this.

Single player game was okay... though some of the maps were pretty BS. I ended up hating Sweettooth as he seems to be a psycopath who just kills to kill. The story made no freaking sense. The controls were crap. I would like to know who the hell thought having to double tap the brake to reverse was a good idea.

Multiplayer... heh, out of the five times I tried to get online to play, only once did I get to see a match all the way to the end because of the random disconnects from the game servers.

How bad was the PS3 Twisted Metal? It's nuts how bad a job they did in comparison to the older ones. Definitely one of the worst games I've played this generation. The developers need to the look up the word 'fun', and make sure the single player portions of the game make heavy reference to it.

Twisted Metal was a good game, but flawed. I bet with another one (with a higher budget hopefully) they'll be able to fix those mistakes.

Not really forgivable to those who payed full price for it.

Hasn't it been dead since Black? Haven't played the new one, but my buddies have told me that it isn't worth the purchase. They say the MP is dead though the SP is good. A game like that isn't played for SP though. IMO.
