I have a PS4, XB1, Switch , PS3, 360 , Wii U and a PC. So in recent times yes.

Never got a Vita, OG Xbox (I might get one for stupid reasons though) or GBA.

I think there's a decent chance I will skip the Switch succesor . Will definitely get a PS5 . Series X possibly if I can get some decent trade in value for my XB1. (If the shortage ever ends that is)

Yeah, I've acquired all consoles since the N64/PS1 era. I never did the Sony handhelds, but everything else.

Only thing missing for this gen is a Series X; already have a modern PC, Switch, and PS5.

Bought a PS4 last gen, hardly touched it. Left a bad taste in my mouth so I'll be sticking with PC-only for the foreseeable future. Seems like the right choice given how MS and Sony will be bringing many/most games to PC from now on.

I wish Nintendo would get in on the party but, meh, don't feel like I'm missing out on too much.

You know that you are not supposed to eat the PS4. 😋

But it was a slim version, I thought it'd be low calorie and help me lose weight.

3rd gen onwards it would be easier to say what consoles I didn't have than did... didn't have a CD-i, 3DO, NeoGeo, Dreamcast, GameCube, nor PS5. Had everything else.

On handheld side though only one I had in 90s was a Game Gear, which I used mostly to play my old Master System games on. Got a DS and PSP, and 3DS, and Switch. That's it for handhelds.

PC gaming I really only did from early 90s up until about 2006, which I pretty much moved entirely to console gaming until few years ago again but mostly to play older PC games and not newer ones.

Normally I get the xbox and nintendo systems. I'm not really a playstation guy, I find most of their games annoying sissy boy stuff, heavily movie driven, with rare exceptions like the uncharted series or tlou. I'm not really a fan of demon souls either. The persona series is also great.

I usually get all the systems though, but I decided to get the sony system last, maybe midgen after a price drop. By then, there will be games that actually make it worth while too.

The xbox and nintendo systems are priority though. I try to get it first. As for pc I'm not really into gaming on it, unless it's rts games or such.

I was a manticore during Gen 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th. Last gen I almost was a full manticore until MS went backwards what made Xbox 360 awesome console and I gave up my Xbox One when MS announce supporting PC, so the choice was easier just to play MS games on PC. As time passes, I fully relies that being a manticore isn't worth it and being in my late 30s, owning consoles isn't as fun as it used to be so just sticking to PC makes a hell lot sense. I'll get PS5 and whatever next Nintendo console but never again I'll buy an Xbox console.

Also, the term Manticore is really outdated term, SW needs to fix that.

Nope. Granted the only Xbox system I have is a 360 that was given to me last year. The funny thing is I can afford both new consoles for the first time in my life. However, I'm pretty satisfied with just having a PC and Switch.

The closest I got was PS2, Xbox and a PC. Only had the Xbox for Halo CE (totally worth it) and sold it for $50 when Halo 2 came out. Besides a wired 360 controller, I haven't bought any new Xbox products.

Yes, just once, in gen 7, i was studying at the university and started working, so I could purchase any system i wanted so i got a PS3, xbox 360, wii, pc, psp and nintendo DS.

Back then beyond work and study i had time to play video games but today, having finished university, between work and my children i dont have much time, so i went PC/playstation and a few months ago i bought a nintendo switch (my older son asked me to buy it).

I did once with the PC, PS3, 360, wii, DS and PSP. there are regrets.

The PSP was a complete waste for me. the game selection didn't interest me much. i had the original model also with some really annoying screen ghosting and the UMD drive was awful.

The PS3 and 360 were ok but i really should have only gotten one of them. Having a PC meant i didn't pick up games often for either system.

its not something i think i will do again. sometimes skipping a gen for a particular platform can be great. i mean i never had a PS4 so if i got a PS5 now i would have no shortage of games to play on it. this gen its going to be PC, Switch and probably a PS5. I say probably because if Sony are bringing all their games to the PC then i can't think of a reason to pick up the console. the chip shortage has a silver lining for me :).

I eventually get every system each generation, but last one I passed on the Xbox one X. This time I went with an XSX first and just happened to find a PS5 so I grabbed that too. I play my XSX 90% of the time because GamePass is awesome.

@SolidGame_basic: Up until the Switch, I always had a Nintendo Console to play Nintendo games. I didn't mention it much, because it was always my "2nd console" that was for Mario/Zelda/Metriod games.

I don't think I have ever gone full Manti core any Gen, but have been pretty close the previous two generations (and did go full mantiore this new Gen, although not yet sure whether that made sense).

Last gen I was missing the Wii U (had the ps4, Xbox one, PC, 3ds and Vita). Although I may be confusing the gens with the vita/3ds.

Two gens ago I had the X360 (damn rrod was annyoign af) , PS3, PC (very average/mid range one imo) PSP and the DS. I was. Missing the Wii.

Three gens ago only had GameCube, PC and GBA.

I guess overtime got closer and closer to getting all, and this is the first Gen I have all (even though, in retrospect, I think this is the one Gen, at least so far, where that makes the least sense)

I typically stick with one console per generation, I barely have time for my ps5 let alone adding an Xbox to my collection.

I did in the 6th and 7th generation but I haven't since. I don't have that much free time and at least 1 console collected dust because it only had 1 or 2 titles that interested me. I've gone PC/Playstation in recent years as my combo but honestly, with the newer consoles becoming more like a closed PC and having less points that differentiate it from others, I may just go PC moving forward and skip the new consoles. All Xbox games will be on PC and it looks like Sony's titles (that will also be on PS4) will eventually come to PC now so there's not alot of incentive to grab a new console right now.

Not really full manticore because I barely play on PC. All generations prior to Generation 8 I've own multiple consoles, minus Nintendo's. Last Nintendo console was Gamecube for me. For a few years I've owned the HD twins and I realize it's just not worth it during Generation 8. It's just overkill. Had a PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, but gave the PS4 Pro away to my nephew and kept the One X because I prefer the Xbox. The PS4 pro simply wasn't getting enough play and the games simply wasn't appealing for me. I've played/enjoyed my PS3 a lot more than the PS4.

At the end I simply preferred the Xbox consoles (XSX for this gen), i'm embedded into its infrastructure and Gamepass is simply awesome, and my library of past Xbox games just adds more icing to the cake. Plus, there's just too many games out there.

Sure, I don't restrict myself to any particular console.

In the last few gens I've played games on the PC, WiiU, Switch, 3DS, PS4 and Vita.

I haven't owned an Xbox console since the 360 - but I'm not opposed to buying one, if any great exclusive games appeared.

Nope! Never have. Nintendo always been #1 for me. I shifted from Sony to XBOX. And PC gaming for me was never in the high-end department.

I've never been a PC or handheld guy. Used to buy all the consoles back in my younger days. I stopped buying Playstation after PS2 though so that ended my console streak.

Every gen because every system has something to offer. Why would anyone (assuming they can afford it) put limits on their hobby??

ehhhhh. I can afford it easily. But an answer to your "why" then is that it takes up a bunch of space, and if you can't sit around gaming 24/7 or don't want to then honestly you're gonna miss out on games. Sometimes good games. Can't play them all. Period. And then now, with MS putting their games on PC... yeah. Doubly wasteful for my lifestyle. I'm already sick of the rotting pile of consoles around my house... really need a kick to add to it

Well according to a certain faction in SWs space isn't the issue. Hating on the competition of their console of choice seems to be the biggest motivating factor.

I hardly game anymore yet I still own all the consoles with the XSX being the exception so far. I also don't play every game on every system but I do try to play all the big console defining games ie: GoW, GeOW, Halo, Uncharted, Zelda, TLOU ect ect. Doesn't take much time for that.

I've never been one to keep old consoles. Once the new systems come out I sell or give away the previous ones.

No. Never had an Xbox and i won't be getting one anytime soon. The closest i've been a Manticore was probably around the PS3 era, i had a Wii, a 3DS and my laptop could run a few exclusive games so i was gaming in almost all platforms.
