Eh. Prime 1 was bad enough to make me hate the rest of them.sonicthemegamanIn your opinion of course. Its a game you didn't like, but it doesn't make it bad.

...and Sonic's your avatar, so that pretty much says everything in terms of your taste in games...
I only missed out on MP 2.
Apparently it wasn't as good as the others as it gets rarely mentioned.
But i like many more things than other people :P so i'm still getting the trilogy to try it out.
I didn't have a GC last gen, so I haven't played the first two Primes.

You are precisely the audience for which Metroid Prime Trilogy is for. I hope you play it :)
i found it hard to play through the first 20%, but after that it grows on your and becomes a blast.I only missed out on MP 2.

Yes, but then my gamecube got disc read error and I never played Metroid again after that. I had gotten to some big blue boss or something.
Played Metroid Prime a few years ago. The game wasn't able to hold my attention at all. Remember returning my rental the same day and getting my money back. I'm pretty sure that I have more patience than I did back then so a second chance is probably in order.

That has nothing to do with. I guess a NHL avatar means you love hockey games. See, I can't take you guys seriously. You crank out the insults and hit below the belt while making no real arguements. -_- and of course when I defened MP2, that game magically became the worse in the series. If you played Super Metroid, I couldn't imagine you liking Prime.[QUOTE="sonicthemegaman"]Eh. Prime 1 was bad enough to make me hate the rest of them.lettuceman44In your opinion of course. I have played the original Metroid, Super Metroid, Fusion and Zero Mission and while I think the 2D games are better, Metroid Prime was an excellent adventure game better than many other games around the time it came out. That said MP2 and 3 aren't as good and feel a bit worn out but still they aren't bad either.
Am I the only one who just couldn't get into the MP games? I played 1 and 2 and I just couldn't get into either of them, although part of the problem is that I spent half of my time wondering what the hell I was supposed to do next - but maybe that's just because i'm an idiot.
[QUOTE="sonicthemegaman"] [QUOTE="Fried_Shrimp"] Ok, I will. :PFried_ShrimpI don't get it..... No wonder you don't like Metroid Prime. So...undeline insults? Im really taking you seriously -__-
Eh. Back-tracking killed it for me. The gameplay wasnt so bad but the fp camera had issues and the back-tracking prevented me from getting to the fun parts. it just wasnt worth the hassle.Am I the only one who just couldn't get into the MP games? Ive only played corruption and I couldnt get into it for some reason

I finished prime. Kind of forced myself through it. After I beat it I wanted to play it again for some reason.
I started playing Echoes, and it was harder than the first one. Too much backtracking for me, i have trouble reading the map, so I'm checking it every single time I enter a room, and I'm never really sure where to go next.
Getting lost in this game s ZERO fun. You end up fighting the same creatures over and over and nothing to show for it but wasted time.
It's immersive, a beautiful production, and just all around a solid game, but I just don't have the mindset for it
I've played 1 and 2 on the Gamecube. Metroid Prime 2 is one of the hardest games I've ever beaten (maybe the hardest). Its one of those games I just think are absolutely impossible without a guide of some sort. Gamespot saved me on that one.

If you played Super Metroid, I couldn't imagine you liking Prime.Actually way back when I owned a SNES, a couple friends and I played Super Metroid to death. That being said, I loved Metroid Prime. 3 was great, and 2 was pretty good as well but IMO the weakest of the series (not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but not at the level of the other 2)
I own and have played all three.
I've played the first about 8 or 9 times through. I've played the second about 3 or 4 times through. And I've played the third once through. My favourite is the second, and I'd say in terms of complete package quality, the second is also the best (music, atmosphere, story, items, areas, bosses, difficulty, etc.).
The first is a fantastic remake of Super Metroid in 3D but the second took everything good about the first and made a "new" area for Metroid, instead of recycling all the old areas with new names (hell, even Magmoor Caverns had the Lower Norfair theme from SM).
The third however, in terms of graphics and controls was a step up from the second, but in every other case (adventure, replayability, non-linearity, puzzle solving, platforming, etc.) it was a step down. It became more of a "shooter" than a first-person action-adventure with shooting elements. And was also a pretty big disappointment when I heard that there was going to be a full voice cast and not only were the characters incredibly one-dimensional and shallow, but Samus still didn't talk. It felt like they were trying to get with the times, but ended up getting with the mid-1990's times instead of 2007.
Here's hoping Other M is going to be good... but it could go either way. I'm still waiting for a full 2D, Wii Metroid: Fusion sequel... but that's not going to happen. Which is why I've got Shadow Complex to fill the large hole I've had for 2D speed-running games.foxhound_fox
This is what I don't like about "new Nintendo". They are dumbing down all of their big franchises. Metroid Prime was one of my most favored games of all time. But they ruined everything in terms of exploration, puzzles, the beams (don't get me started on the beams!). They just dumbed down the game.. made it simpler, so that the casual market could "jump in". I hate it. I despise it. I LOATHE it. I just hope to Steven Seagal that they don't screw up Zelda Wii. Pump up the damn difficulty!
I played metroid prime hunters but that probably doesn't count so I got metroid prime trilogy today.
That's truly a darn shame. You should try the trilogy. Anyway, I myself never owned a Gamecube, so I will be picking up MP:Trilogy to try it out.Yes, but then my gamecube got disc read error and I never played Metroid again after that. I had gotten to some big blue boss or something.

I don't get how they dumbed down the 3rd one. Sure it was more actiony and alittle less focused on exploration but I wouldn't call it dumbed down. And what was wrong with the beams? Being able to switch was cool, but there was nothing wrong with teh beams being stacked. Made it a bit more like Super Metroid's beam system.
I've played all three of them. The first one is my favorite game from last gen. The second one was an excellent game with it's only problem being the muitiplayer. The third, while not as excellent as the first two was still a great game and was easily the best in terms of gameplay but was a little too easy compared to Prime 2. Never played Hunters.
