Haze 576p confirmed

Can we all take a step back at this point, and realise that the "HD era" truly is a joke? This has to be one of the worst generations of all time in terms of over-talking products prior to their release, surely? The PS3 was meant to be a super computer; i need comment no further than that. Peter Moore declares the age of the jaggy over, only to have microsoft's top game Halo 3 be criticised in reviews for having the odd jagged edge too many, and now games not even being in HD at all seems to slowly becoming the standard.

You know what. I played PDZ today and it just dawned on me that PDZ has better textures and looks better than Haze. Thats my opinion but after playing the demo and playing PDZ, PDZ looks better. sirk1264

PDZ still has the best textures of any console game so far if you ask me. They're truly amazing. Too bad the gameplay is pretty much "Perfect Dark: Only Not Good Edition".

I really think the HD era is next generation when we have the xbox 720 and ps4. This generation is more like the ED era. Games are in higher resolutions than standard definition but they aren't quite HD yet. This doesn't go for all games but it seems like it goes for the majority.

Lol well unlike you i actually liked the gameplay in PDZ. It was my most played game for a while. I also think Kameo is still one of the best looking games this generation. For some reason Rare knows how to do graphics. If they take Rare's graphics and did Halo 3's gameplay then that will be a game i will never put down.

Personally, i say screw HD. Bungie said it themselves; "last year we had to worry about accomodating about 20 or so varying TV set ups. Now it's more like fifty billion."

I honestly think this whole "HD gaming" nonsense is what's lead to so many games failing to impress graphically despite such lengthy development times, huge budgets and high resolutions. Developers are too busy trying to make everything look acceptable in HD.

Well how come they can't do it like PC games? PC developers aren't having a problem unless I'm missing something...

I don't think they should "screw it" but until they can really do "it" they shouldn't be making false claims or coming up short.

Yes i have played the original PD. Indeed it was a classic but i still liked PDZ. It was fun for its time.

I don't' see any reason why a console can't have that much RAM. Maybe it's because of cost?

Maybe but i wonder how much more it would drive up the cost. Heck 2GB's of ram would have been more than enough. The current consoles only have 512MB of ram.

I downloaded the demo and thought it was pretty fun, but then again I not too hot about FPSs as the next person. There all just rentals to me.

Game looks fine to me also, its not the best looking, but its also not the most terrible looking either.

To me there is no excuse for a game of this caliber running at 576p natively, when so many games out now and since the launch of the PS3 and 360 run at 720p natively except a few exeptions like COD4 and Halo3, but both aren't far from it at 640p but 576p that is progressive pal standard resolution. There is no excuse for Free radiacal to not have put more effort into development of this game and get the native res up.

I and others have noticed that the graphics of Haze doesn't look so great. I remember being excited about the demo releasing and being dissappointed by the visuals. It looked liked a high res xbox game. I'm still confused how the game visuals can look so unimpressive even though past pics and videos seemed to show the game as a graphical powerhouse.

Now I haven't said anything about gameplay, if its anything like timesplitters this game could be good, but I'm not about to spend 60 bucks to find out. I'll definitely rent this game though.

What we do care about is MGS4 going to pwn every game that has ever come out. Watch what MGS4 will do to gaming, it will set a new milestone, it will be a masterpiece.
