Wow, there are so many inaccuracies in that I don't know where to start. If you want an HDDVD drive right now for your PC just get the 360 drive, it works just as well.

Dell supports Blu-ray, but Dell are no longer the largest PC shipper. HP are. HP initially supported Blu-ray, but now it's backing both HD DVD and Blu-ray.

meh. this arguement gets old.

It will take people a long time to switch into Windows Vista anyway. Don't expect anything too soon.

I can tell you one thing though. As a PC gamer and someone who spends more time doing PC stuff than anything, Blue-Ray is ALOT  more appealing for PC than HD-DVD is.

FOR PC HD-DVD is more appealing, you can get a brand new PC with HD-DVD drive and how much more will it cost 100 dollars WOW I will like to SEE BLU-RAY beat that

I don't think either are that appealing. Format size simply isn't a big issue on PC for gaming.

Blue-Ray has a much higher storage capability than HD-DVD. HD-DVD maxes out between 30-40gigs. Blue-Ray has been pushed up to 100gigs so far. As a PC person, this is MUCH more appealing. Especially when you have as much crap as I have that needs to be backed up :)

Ignorance is truely bliss with a statement like that. Prices change as technology becomes cheaper. It's not always going to be $700 to add blue-ray to your PC. It's not always going to be $3000 for a 1080p HDTV, it's not always going to be $600 for an 8800GTX.... seriously think logically and stop trolling and wanting Microsoft and the 360 to win whatever any way.

Dell actively sucks. And I'm not being a hardware fanboy. Dell really does suck. And I don't really get this thread. Vista itself can't alter existing DVD drives to read HD-DVD. There's no point to be had.

Point is that DELL and HP are the biggest computer manufactures therefore, they will make a difference on what people whant if I dont know what blu-ray is and im buying a computer from dell and they tell me its going to cost you 880 dollars more I would tell them to shove it up there a@@, now HP if they tell me if I whant HD-DVD and they tell me what is and how much more it will be only 100 dollars I would go for it

[QUOTE="2kurupt"][QUOTE="cobrax25"]the 880 doller one is a blue ray burner, not just a reader like the HD-DVD drive second I just showed you 2 laptops that cost the same despite having different formats.

yes you did and I am amazed but I also just show you how much more the BLu-ray drive will cost from DELL and I dont know about you but I have 2 computers and they happen to be DELL, at work everysingle computer is HP they are the 2 biggest computer manufactures not SONY or TOSHIBA, and if we where to compare DELL to HP its a big difference not what you show me SONY and TOSHIBA

thats a blue ray rewriteable burner that costs $800. whether a $100 HD-DVD drive exists(which I doubt) it will only be a reader... the fact that sony and toshiba are able to keep their costs exacly the same, means that dell and HP should be more then able to do the same...

meh. this arguement gets old.

It will take people a long time to switch into Windows Vista anyway. Don't expect anything too soon.

I can tell you one thing though. As a PC gamer and someone who spends more time doing PC stuff than anything, Blue-Ray is ALOT more appealing for PC than HD-DVD is.

2kurupt

not true. appealing how? how is either really more appealing than the other? i think you are 100% wrong. if one is not appealing, then niether will the other be. and vice versa.

Have you heard OF HARD DRIVES, there some that are external if you havent heard

yeah, sure at that rate, how about we just carry arround our hard drives instead of our DVD's or mp3 players, that sure is appealing...

yeah, but disks are easier to take with you :)

yes but your forgetting how EXpensive blu-ray is, how much will the disk cost, jus the drive alone will cost alot

Ignorance is truely bliss with a statement like that. Prices change as technology becomes cheaper. It's not always going to be $700 to add blue-ray to your PC. It's not always going to be $3000 for a 1080p HDTV, it's not always going to be $600 for an 8800GTX.... seriously think logically and stop trolling and wanting Microsoft and the 360 to win whatever any way.

ofcourse there going to drop in price you dumb dumb but think stop and think please if HD-DVD drives for pc are already 100 dollars to add think how much cheapr it will be later on it will always be cheaper then blu-ray and you know this, dont get mad at me because of Blu-ray costing so much

wow finally someone put 2k in his place. thainks kyo

I got the last word so guess who put who in there place

garbage can be bought in great numbers, and it is still garbage. face it, it would take something on the order of magnitude of ME or so to get people to leave Windows in great numbers.

im sure DELL will follow HP adding HD-DVD drives for 100 dollars come one you can beat that

2kurupt
