[QUOTE="Cronaroth"]WalMart is far from the best place for movies...plenty of times ive found better deals at say Best Buy-and heck now most of the time I buy online since the best prices are online....I never see High Def movies at walmart anyways...and their DVD selection is just pathetic....I buy games every so often there since they do a much better job on games...but movies...never...Uptown

Agree, I buy most media from Amazon. I won't step foot in a Wal-Mart. The people in there are nasty and the checkout lines are too long. I much prefer Target.

Target is the classy version of Wal-Mart. Its clean, its well lit, its well organized, and the people that shop there aren't collecting from the government ;O

Here in Texas it's even worse.  Most of the people in Walmart aren't even citizens or legal residents of this country.

Confirmation FTW:

http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/10/20/business/dvd.php

from the International Herald Times a very reliable news source.

It is HD-DVD, NOT bLu-RAY

That article is dated October 20th, 2005. It has nothing to do with the rumored Wal-Mart deal.

Actually Sherlock, the correlation of the article is Toshiba joining up with Chinese manufacturers.  The statement with"poor translation" about the Walmart deal was about Chinese manufacturers licensed by Toshiba.

Come on now... let's put 2 and 2 together...come on now... you can do it...!!!

Good boy!  See, I told you if you use your brain you could do it!!!

You see thats called assuming and that gets people into alot of trouble.  YOu are trying to put the square block in the hole meant for the triangle just because you think it fits doesnt mean its true.  That is VERY old news and lots of things could have changed since then.

So why do you assume things HAVE changed, when no word has come out otherwise?

i've said it from the get-go: hd dvd/walmart/china will be in bed together eventually.

other big box retailers are moving this direction and it goes against walmart's grain to not take advantage of it by doing it cheaper and faster...

when walmart's finished, a consumer can watch a hi definition movie for under $1,000 including HDTV...

very nice..;)

What if you want a quality experience for under $1,000?  Wouldn't it be better to buy a Toshiba HD-DVD for $400 or $500?  You get what you pay for.Â
