[QUOTE="G10mgs4"]it dosnt matter anyway u when making a game you shoudlnt have to compress anythingjeffwulf
Yeah, I agree. All textures should be uncompressed the whole way from the disk to the screen. I love having my RAM fit a total of 7 textures. Thats 1 more then 6!
I know eh? I love it too. My 8MB of super fast RAM is really handy for those RAM-hungry apps.I'm you say the audio for the game is "probably uncompressed" your wrong." Well I think the dev told everyone that with this comment: "We use a mixture of compressed and uncompressed, but lots were compressed for the reasons people have stated."
Note everyone the significance of this. People were stating that they were making it up about the 10gb and they were being lazy not compressing at all. They ARE compressing. Like any dev they are doing a cost/benefit calculation. They have space they can use which provides better quality - they STILL compress!
Especially when they are region free games. Plus it takes more rendering power to uncompress audio, energy that can be used elsewhere to make the game look/function better.
"they are doing a cost/benefit calculation."
