[QUOTE="ball_of_air"]I think it's funny how everyone here couldn't care less outside of SW. :lol:Burnout_Player0
it's funny that this IS sw and HS is a flop
You see? That's the SW talking.;)
couldn't say it better myself. I'll get it when I get a PS3, can't wait :DIt was hyped AAA, and it got AA. It's a flop here on SW.
Nobody is telling you not to enjoy it btw. It does look a like a fun game. Might pick it up in the future when it's cheaper, and when I actually get a PS3.

I do, therefore your statement is now false.
Owned and Flopped
The game is really awesome. It has top-notch production values and it is a hell of a lot of fun.
I haven't played a game like this since PS2, something that feels like a Hollywood movie and is really about entertaining you rather than testing your patience or your willingness to indulge it. 7 hours isn't long, but when every moment is action-packed and its all tied together with beautiful CGI cutscene with great music, it feels satisfying. I can see myself playing this game many times over, the same way I watch a good movie.
Obviously fanboys here won't admit that the game is good because 8.0 (Great) isn't enough for TEH OMG OFFICIALEST HYPE THREAD, but they will miss out. This game is incredible. Double the length, throw in a couple of survivor/time attack modes and you have a definite AAA.

The only criticism leveled at the game was its duration, am sure if this game was few hours longer then we would have been looking at AAA title.
I played it, and loved every second of it, even exceed my expectation. Lems please don't knock the game if you haven't even played it.

If only... yet it didn't live up to the hype. Sorry but it flopped

Tell ya what,
If you speak on behalf of the cows that Metroid Prime 3 didn't flop and it is in fact a AAA game, then yeah, I'd be happy in Saying Heavenly Sword didn't flop.
We need an official "flop definition" sticky thread.
Perhaps this thread can also serve to catalogue the official game hypes versus the actual scores to solidify a games floppiness.

Heavenly Sword [PS3]
Official hype thread
Gamespot review
Results: Hyped AAA [9.0-9.5] - Scored [8.0] - Status: FLOP
I'm sorry but if I am charged $60 (About $67 after tax), I expect a game that isn't just 7 hours long. And if it is, I expect a TON of extras that will give it an immense amount of replayability.
Apathetic-Irony
Hopefully, you didn't buy Dead Rising or Gears of War! Those are even shorter! Especially Gears! I do agree games should be longer though.

Man you are the worst Sony fanboy ever. Especially gears? It obviously shows you never played the game... go the GS review and read how long it is. Fakeboy.

Dead Rising isn't that short. And it has tons of extras and incentives to play through again. Even Gears has co-op and online multiplayer.
playing the game now (my girlfriend bought it for me):
-great cutscenes
-immersive story (mostly because of actors in cutscenes)
-good graphics (not the best) but GREAT art-direction and beautifull surroundings.
-great fight controls. great combo's
-sixaxis control (after touch) takes some getting used to, but is great when you just relax and adjust with small motion.
cons: extreme screen tearing... and jaggies in gameplay (but i play on a 100 inch screen...so they become more appearent), ugly hair, a little bit on the easy side... Ninja gaiden is far more challenging.

Gears has multiplayer, and dead rising has alot of replay and unlockables. Heavenly Sword is just a nice game to rent.

Gears of War was reported 12 hours. After a year and trying to run through it as fast as possible on the easiest setting going through every loophole its about 7. Gamespot played through it thier FIRST TIME in 6 hours. That could make this a 4 hour game ouch

And in the Gamespot review of Dead Rising, they said the game was a 15-20 hour run the first time through. That isn't even close to 7 hours.

Where do you live that you get charged over 10% sales tax? :/
canada = 14%
[QUOTE="Mad_Rhetoric"]wow look at all the pathetic damage control :lol:SolidTy
Although you're right, you already posted that same sentence in another thread. You are becoming repetitive.
cows damage control are even more repetitive

Difference is those games have adventure element to the game and often you wander around.
Heavenly Sword is very linear game. First time, second time, or third time play, it will always be around 6 to 8 hours.

Are you freaking kidding me? Dead Rising shorter than 7 hours? Have you even PLAYED the damned game?
if this game was few hours longer then we would have been looking at AAA title.gameruk2010
And if Lair was a good game, it would gave gotten AA. You heard it here first; Lair isn't a flop!
And yes, I was being sarcastic. Just because you want the game to be good, doesn't make it good. Same case with Heavenly Sword, the game isn't those extra hours long, so it doesn't deserve AAA.
