Halo in general is a more polished experience. The single player campaign seems to be longer than HS not including co-op and a robust online play. Don't think theres any real comparison but thanks for trying.

Trying for what? I'm buying a 360 today and getting halo 3 on tuesday. I thought I would just shed some light.

Yup, the co-op and mp will really nullify "most" of the short single player drawback. But really, is there a short single player campaign when compared to other games? I've heard around 10 hours and that's more then Gears (Look at that score ;) ).

Nah, it's said to be the normal 10-12 hour campaign. That's 4-6 hours longer or twice as long as Heavenly Sword. Plus you have 4 player co-op and multiplayer. Bad comparison.

Try reading the entire thread before posting. I already said i'm purchasing a 360 today and halo 3 on tuesday.
Halo's SP seems to just be something tacked on to give you some connection to the world and the characters for the online fragfest at the heart of the game. The reason people still play Halo 2 to this day has nothing to do with the campaign. I guarantee they aren't playing the campaign over and over.
Heavenly Sword is awesome, but Halo 3 should have a lot more value for the price. Also, as Heavenly Sword has taught us, a 6-7 hour story can be totally incredible. If Halo 3's story mode is as cinematic and immersive as Heavenly Sword it will be a grrrrrrreat success!

So, your saying that Heavenly Sword is the ONLY game that doesn't need more than 6 hours of gameplay? Thats really odd.
Bungie had already acknowledged that Halo 3 is their longest in the series.
it's Multiplayer will only save it by 1.0 points so thats automaticly AA. ;) Thats why Casey wants the Topic of score in the Halo 3 discussion cause everyone knows the score of Halo 3 will make every lemming pull his hair out.

This whole myth that Heavenly Sword's only flaw was that it was short, and that it would have gotten a 10 if it was longer, is getting out of hand. There were other complaints about the game, in particular that it was repetitive.
well so far i have done 4 chapters i think, (goin by the achivemnts) and on heroic they have take me about 1 hour - 1h 25mins to go throught! Pluss the forge seems really big and cool but i aint had a thoughr go yet, just concentrating on th single player, but it seems to be like the other two so far in length. But i aint finished yet so i dont know exctly!
Like a bunch of people have already said, Halo 3 has a TON of multiplayer options. Co op for up to four people, Forge mode, Some of the best Online multiplayer you'll find on a console (based on my experience with the beta), etc.
I hear that Halo 3's campaign is about 10 - 12 hours which, by itself is longer than Heavenly Sword's campaign which I hear clocks in at around 7 hours. Sono, I do not think Halo 3 will be docked for a short campaign.
