Its a decent stab at being different, but ultimately I too think the hype for this game is absurd. Its a movie. We buy video game consoles to play video games, not movies.

I enjoyed Fahrenheit (except for the Sci-fi elements), I love adventure games. Why shouldn't I not be hyped for Heavy Rain? This is Sony and QD's chance to show the gaming world that the adventure genre isn't dead yet. Maybe it will inspire Sega to develop a Shenmue III (haha just wishful thinking)

The adventure genre has actually been doing fairly well recently, and Heavy Rain probably isn't going to change that too much. The old point-and-click fans might be turned off by the endless action sequences and lack of puzzles, and other gamers might play Heavy Rain but not end up liking more traditional adventure games.

Still, it's always good to see a game that isn't a big-budget shooter get so much attention.

How do you know how much puzzles are in this? Did you play the game yet? I know first hand that Indigo Prophecy was loaded with puzzles why would they leave that out on this? Haven't any of you played Quantic Dreams past games ? I have even Omnikrom.. the David Bowie future pc game back in 1999. They are great devs and lemmings need to stop bashing something they never played.. Not everything needs to be shooters or brawlers, some of us love our rgps and adventure games.. I know right...big shock to "mainstream" COD fanatics.

It doesn't matter what this game scores review wise as I intend to pick this up DAY 1! I loved Indigo Prophecy (AKA Farenheit in Australia). The mature story telling and dark subject matter make this my most anticipated title of 2010.

So I'm a lemming because I don't like this game? Did I even mention the PS3 in my post? Nah, I think you're just a cow.

And if I'm not allowed to 'bash a game I've never played' what gives you the right to praise a game you've never played? Please, do tell. I'd like to hear your response.

I praise and hype the things that interest me. I have been following this game for over a year now, watched every video, read every article, listened to multiple podcasts on people who have played the preview disc. i am very passionate about the games I am interested in. It's called looking forward to something and being positive. Bashing something you never played is called being narrow mined, negative, and words I can't say on this site. Why not put your energy into discussing a game you like instead of bashing a game you obviously have no interest in. If you don't like this style of game.. fine... go hype halo reach or something...

looks like a cool experience really. I love movies, so playing a movie and making some choices would be cool.

So basically what you're saying is you have the right to express your opinion but I don't have the right to express mine.

Huh.

Well rather then bothering arguing with you (there's no point really, I mean only your opinion is right, amirite?) I'm just going to let you watch your movie when it comes out.

And btw, Í have no interest for Halo Reach. I've never played a Halo game at all, and your generalizations are becoming really damn annoying. Goodbye.

EXCEPRT FROM INTERVIEW:

G4: How do you market a game like Heavy Rain? As a video game? As a movie? As both?

DC: We are going to market Heavy Rain as a video game because this is what it is. It is definitely an experience that you play, not a nice cut-scene that you watch. Our goal is to convince players that it is possible to tell a story though game play and not through cut-scenes.

If they can pull that off then more power to them.
