Its a decent stab at being different, but ultimately I too think the hype for this game is absurd. Its a movie. We buy video game consoles to play video games, not movies.

I enjoyed Fahrenheit (except for the Sci-fi elements), I love adventure games. Why shouldn't I not be hyped for Heavy Rain? This is Sony and QD's chance to show the gaming world that the adventure genre isn't dead yet. Maybe it will inspire Sega to develop a Shenmue III (haha just wishful thinking)

The adventure genre has actually been doing fairly well recently, and Heavy Rain probably isn't going to change that too much. The old point-and-click fans might be turned off by the endless action sequences and lack of puzzles, and other gamers might play Heavy Rain but not end up liking more traditional adventure games.
Still, it's always good to see a game that isn't a big-budget shooter get so much attention.
How do you know how much puzzles are in this? Did you play the game yet? I know first hand that Indigo Prophecy was loaded with puzzles why would they leave that out on this? Haven't any of you played Quantic Dreams past games ? I have even Omnikrom.. the David Bowie future pc game back in 1999. They are great devs and lemmings need to stop bashing something they never played.. Not everything needs to be shooters or brawlers, some of us love our rgps and adventure games.. I know right...big shock to "mainstream" COD fanatics.
