Tbh. Not enough. 3 million would have been the sweet spot. I guess we know what gamers want these days... Moar Shooters!Elann20082 Million is enough especially for an Adventure game, let alone a Interactive movie (a sub genre thought to be dead)
2 Million is enough especially for an Adventure game, let alone a Interactive movie (a sub genre thought to be dead) 2 million x $20 per copy that the developers get? That's what 40 million to the developer? How does it work? I heard that the publisher and retailer get biggest chunks and devs get the "left over" percentage. Is that really enough? Did that even cover the development cost?[QUOTE="Elann2008"]Tbh. Not enough. 3 million would have been the sweet spot. I guess we know what gamers want these days... Moar Shooters!jasonharris48

But yeah, 2 million is really good considering all the circumstances. My Dead Space 2 hasn't even reached 1 million yet since launch. Can you believe it? /sigh I don't know man, haha.[QUOTE="Elann2008"]

I really hope I'm wrong. Across 3 platforms and everything.. haha :P Last time I checked a couple of weeks ago, it was at 450k (360, PS3, PC).[QUOTE="Elann2008"][QUOTE="jasonharris48"] I get what you're saying, but to expect 3 million sold in generation of gaming? Just out of curiosity, how much did Alan Wake sell less in comparison? You know, the poor man's, Luigi's Mansion.
FIipMode
It's OFFICIAL Alan Wake will >>> Heavy Rain Sales.
Had to do it.
I still can't believe how overhyped that game was. Even before it came out, I was like "what do people see in this game? They barely know anything about it, and they're acting like it's the second coming of Halo!" :lol:At least Alan Wake was still an OK game though-- even if it was not even close to the masterpiece the fanboys hyped it as. Look at Too Human-- people were saying it would re-invent the action RPG, and yet the game ended up being a piece of crap that got panned by the critics. And then, Silicon Knights had the nerve to blame it all on the Unreal Engine to the point that they tried to SUE EPIC GAMES over it, and even their lawsuit flopped!
One of the few games I thought I want to plat this game, just because I wanted to see all the endings
Pretty amazing, the game deserves it, it scared the hell out of me :P. i only played this game at night lol
The only reason I wanted to get the game is to play as Madison naked and exploit the nude glitch. But then I realised that its a very perverted decision to purchase a game so backed out.
Is Quantic Dream making another game yet? I wasn't that fond of Heavy Rain(Some of the plot holes just was too much lol), but I liked Indigo Prophecy, because it was just so ridiculous and funny.
If they make a new game similar to those, I think they should have 1 character. I think they'd do much better like that.Luxen90
Yep their making a new game, last time i read about the project their working on is it might be war related
Heavy Rain... scared the hell out of you? :?Pretty amazing, the game deserves it, it scared the hell out of me :P. i only played this game at night lol

Well yeah >_>... especially when he SPOILER had to cut his finger. that was the worst >_>.. i played this game only at night when all the lights were off and headphones on the highest volume :P
That's what chaps my arse about Nintendo games. Want to buy a Nintendo licensed game? You WILL be paying $50 dollars. At launch or 3 years down the road.a great game.
now lower the dam price so more people will play it :P
seriously, I was shocked that the game was still $60 a whole year after release when I went to buy it.

I can see that... the game did have an "eerie" feeling to it. The depressing mood and the premise of the story... a serial killer on the lose.for a game that was NEVER supposed to even come close to 2 million Heavy Rain was a huge success. The only epic fail is your post.and it only took an entire year and one month.
congrats on this Epic Fail!

Thats supossed to be after the two current projects they are working on.
I disliked Heavy Rain, but whatever, at least it encourages stuidos to take risks with certain projects, and stop trying to make COD clones.GeneralShowzer^^This.^^ The games industry could use more "shaking up".

Sigh. Considering the game was only expected to sell 1 million over its entire lifetime, 2 million in a year is brilliant.
2 million for any new exclusive IP (let alone one as unique as Heavy Rain) is fantastic.[QUOTE="bryn8150"]how much time did it take to AW? :|Alan's Mansion err Luigi Wake hasn't even passed the 1 million mark! :lol:and it only took an entire year and one month.

Remedy's largest fanbase are PC gamers canceling the PC version was a dumb move.[QUOTE="Giancar"][QUOTE="bryn8150"]
