Such a delusional fanboy. Fanboys like this are just a rut to gaming.

Now please quote one of the 4 poster i just quoted on my last post and cry about what they say of sony.

Again when you attack just 1 side and ignore the other you are been a blind sided fan as well.

Now I can only hope Sony helps Microsoft figure out how to make some great 1st party games. HAHA!

Also this is a huge win for Microsoft Azure! Sony is just damn smart about it and understands that it would cost way to much money to create a service like Azure or AWS.

And here it is clear as day the reason why you will not say shit about those who flame sony.

PSN is fu**ing OK it has no problems at all and millions of gamers play on the network every damn day,in fact more people play on PSN than on xbox live just so you know this pathetic bullshit of PSN suck is totally embedded on lemmings minds.

The PS4 online works just fine and since day 1 is doing cross play with PC without problems and basically every crap that live does.

The only reason why sony is doing this is because of money,is cheaper to run games on azure than build your own damn network or expanding it,is 2019 is not 2006 the whole crap about PSN sucking is play out by now.

This move is totally about money.

As part of the memorandum of understanding, Sony and Microsoft will also explore collaboration in the areas of semiconductors and AI. For semiconductors, this includes potential joint development of new intelligent image sensor solutions. By integrating Sony’s cutting-edge image sensors with Microsoft’s Azure AI technology in a hybrid manner across cloud and edge, as well as solutions that leverage Sony’s semiconductors and Microsoft cloud technology, the companies aim to provide enhanced capabilities for enterprise customers.

This is a 2 way deal and i am surprise of how much say is say about PSN,and how you people ignore how MS will use Sony's cutting edge image sensors for azure cloud and edge.

There was a 2019 GDC I forgot which title but they basically had to use Sony's cameras because it's one of the most advanced for motion capture.

MS knows they are not going to sell hardware at the global level Sony will, personally I see this as a equal win where MS can go full blast on their GAAS model on every bit of hardware imaginable, and Sony gets some help in making PS now better.

Not correct. MS has Surface product lines and as long Intel prioritize the CPU within $499 price target. Game consoles are GPU bias within a certain price target.

This is collusion. Shows you right there, they just want to live service the crap out of games and will work even with their worst enemies to make it happen.

Monopolize games to be online only, if both companies are doing it, neither can attack the other for doing it.

AAA gaming's days are numbered. All we gonna have in the future is crappy indie games with SNES graphics. On the plus side, you won't have to upgrade your PC ever again when you run 16 bit games.

I see it more as a hedge (probably not the right term, but you know what I mean). No one's sure yet how gamers are going to react to streaming, so why should the console industry, as a whole, double up on infrastructure if it's only going to bomb. You can't really blame them for wanting to explore live services/streaming if there's a demand there. I just can't see either company leaving all the money on the table only to waste resources trying to force streaming on an unreceptive market. PC gaming would boom if that was the only place traditional game installs could exist, and you'd soon see new players coming in to fill the vacuum Xbox and PS had left.

It's at most going to be a secondary service for at least the foreseeable future. Kind of like mobile gaming - an option for some sorts of customer in some circumstances. I mean, I've not heard many people go "Wow! Just tried streaming and it's amazing! Can't wait!" Instead what you generally hear is "It wasn't horrible for some types of game, but it's not the way I'll ever be doing most of my gaming." Too many customers don't care about streaming and only want traditional games for this to be a major threat. That's my take on it anyway.

*Just realised you weren't specifically talking about streaming. Silly me. I suppose the same kind of argument applies to other services, but to a lesser extent. I don't know, I have less of a problem with MMO-type-stuff and what have you, but I'm not sure that's what you mean. At any rate, PC is nice and open, so I always figure competition can elbow out the crappiest practices most easily there.

** Not that anyone's going to read this far, but it bugs me that your scenario isn't impossible. Now if we had an ironclad guarantee of net neutrality, none of this would be a worry, since open competition with streaming and services (i.e. downloadable software from competitors) depends on equality of data, which would be a given if the net neutrality repeal was repealed, if you see what I mean :P

I... I have to admit I still don't know what any of this means. It's like an uneasy alliance ala Game of Thrones to combat a larger force. Stadia feels like the Night King and the army of the dead creeping in the distance.

Makes sense. Outside of SW, these companies all deal "behind the scenes" as seen from our point of view. Look to TV's as an example... Sony buys panels from differing manufacturers over the years, and utilizes them in their own units. It cuts down costs across the board.

How exactly that is proven?

And please don't say because they join azure, because it is obvious that this is a busyness move to save money and is a 2 way deal as well as MS will be using Sony image sensor on its cloud as well.

LMAO Save money?

Sony doesn't have the necessary capital or tech to compete in the growing cloud/streaming market. They would be left behind by the big guns of Amazon, Google and MSFT. Sony isn't in these corporations league in terms of cloud assets or money to build it up fast enough.

I cant believe you took me that seriously about PSN. Its SW, bro.

For streaming, data centre location is everything. Suppose streaming only makes up a tiny fraction of Sony's revenue, is it really worth investing globally to get data centres in every city? As for why Azure in particular, MS is invested in streaming solutions tailored to gaming. Perhaps it's something to do with that.

What it means is Sony are paying Microsoft to use their technology for cloud streaming,

Meaning when Sony start cloud streaming ps games to every device it will be a shit load better than ps now

In fanboy speak Sony are ms bitches and ps has no games

In grown up adult talk, it’s good for gamers they are gonna work on future projects together to improve gaming

This confirms Sony's exclusives will be on every device via streaming in the near future through PSNow. Also, it's kinda pathetic of Sony to come running to Microsoft to protect them from the big bad Stadia man. Microsoft will probably use Sony's money to buy Insomniac and From Software.

Playstation will be dead in a decade, zero future planning or proofing, zero vision, stuck in the past, a poverty company compared to Microsoft. lol

Sony: "HELP US MICROSOFT HELP US!!!!"

Microsoft: "I'll help youse but you're a bunch of idiots"

Sony never had an extensive infrastructure because they always leased it. It really doesn't matter who it is as long as they meet the requirements they need. They already partner with AWS and RackSpace so it's not a far reach that this may be in addition to rather than immediately replacing. The press release specifically states "future" so it seems related to new cloud instances which makes sense if the underlying architecture of both systems is the same. Sony and Microsoft gain much more high availability for a lower cost by building the cloud infrastructure together. It lowers prices for both companies. Honestly, I didn't think MS would allow this but this and the move with Nintendo and as well as Xbox Anywhere seems to indicate they aren't looking to compete in the console space in the same ways and looks like a focus on Modern MS as a services company with "some" in-house hardware to keep market prices in line with what they want.

I think all this means is that Sony is now a client of Microsoft for their cloud technology. Sony will need this because it will cost a lot of money for them to go it alone.

It really makes no difference to both companies. Gears, Forza, Halo will remain exclusive to MS and all the Sony exclusives will remain exclusive.

It will be similar to the fact that Apple buys screens from Samsung.

It will be similar to the fact that Apple buys screens from Samsung.

FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT!!!

Well, tbh, Sony was always MS's client. Do you think Sony's PCs use what? Windows of course.

Does this mean we get to just talk about games? Or does Nintendo have to beat PS in WW sales first?

Nintendo beating PS in WW sales, Epic destroying Steam, MS buying Nintendo, MS buying Sony. Then we can talk about games.
