Okay, so here's the deal.

I'm in the market for either a PSP or a PS2. The PSP is great because its portable, has video output, and some other cool features, but the games library only has so many games I'd want. The PS2 seems like a great deal because it's relatively cheap and has an amazing games library, but it's an older gen console and I'm not sure if I should get it.They're about the same price. I can only afford one. I can't afford a PS3 so don't tell me to spend the extra for it!

Basically, it's a question of whether I want a portable system with less games or a console system with a great selection of games but (obviously) isn't portable.

So, which would you go with and why?

Well if you really want a portable system, plus listen to music and stuff then get the PSP, otherwise the PS2 is the better choice, because it has a much better game library.

If you still have access to the most of the library (mostly, only shopping on online stores/auction sites like eBay), then PS2.

PSP is seriously lacking as far as games go, get yourself a PS2...there's honestly no way you can be disappointed.

lets put it this way. if you are a diehard/major/hardcore gamer, go for ps2. theres ALOT of games that are really good and will be missing out if you dont play them. on the other hand, if you are just a casual gamer go for psp, it still has more or less 5 years left...(maybe) lol. hope that helps. also go to youtube and watch some videos about psp and ps2, it helps you know.

Thanks all. Seems the consensus here is go for the PS2, so I will. It's probably got some good time left and like they say classics don't go out of style. PS2 it is.

PSP has few games that are being released. I am not a fan of portable consoles anyways.

it all depends, if your outside more and needing a music and or movie playing device as well you can't go wrong with a PSP. If your indoors then obviously a PS2 because of the library and suitability for home entertainment.

The extentive collection of games is a reason why you should own a PS2 over a PSP. Heck, its still releasing a new decent titles still.

So I've decided on the PS2 now.

Anything I should know about it before I get it? Things I need/should get? Any potential problems with them? Etc...?
