What games do you want?

Well, regardless, multiplats are more appealing on the PS3 as it doesn't break, and the "exclusive" 360 games end up on PC. Does that answer much?

I can't make up my mind either, so I'll just keep waiting until I do.

Also, the 360 - wait for the new chipset, at least, they should be in in a few months.

PS3 - they're taking out the hardware BC EE chip thing, so if you care about PS2 games...

If you want to play games right now, X360 has them. PS3 will have them in a couple months.

Both consoles have equal strength this holiday season, don't let anyone tell you different.

If you do go with X360 make sure it's not one of the broken models. I'm not sure if they have replaced the broken ones at retail so I'd be careful what you buy. They are supposedly placing a new heat sink in new models so make sure you get one of those. If you get an older model....it will more than likely break within a year. Right now I'm having to return my companies year old 360 and MS customer service said the wait is over a month to fix it. Not exactly what you want to be dealing with if you don't have to.

It'll cost the same to us, though, at least for awhile.

If price is immaterial, you don't mind waiting for games, and you hold a geniune interest in Blu-Ray, the PS3 might be the better choice.

If you enjoy online gaming and prefer a more immediate lineup of excellent game, get a 360.

If you want to play games right now, X360 has them. PS3 will have them in a couple months.

Not true, since the original poster has yet to experience next gen gaming with a ps3 he could still enjoy what has come out already, multiplats or not, perhaps Oblivion, R:FOM, Motorstorm...all he needs to do is find something to busy himselfwith for one month(not a couple)untill Warhawk comes out. Lair could help also as it is beingreleased august 14th or there abouts. But allit comes down tois what games appeals toyou most and in that regard i can't help you, you must decide for yourself. The way i chose is look at what games you HAVE to play, not those you'd like to or want to the ones you HAVE to play. For me it was MGS4, couple that with my preferred selection of exclusives being on the PS3 and i found a winner (Unreal even if multiplat was the icing on the cake) now all we PS3 owners need is Diablo 3 (would save me from buying a new PC).

Ive got both, not too big a difference.Like last gen,ps gameplay feels"action" based, xbox gameplay feels more simulation based. Graphically: 360 I think delivers better screenshot/texture graphics, ps3 hasgreater on screen graphical movement/action and thusly Ithink delivers more dynamic 3-dgameplay.

Xbox live has superior community features, and all in all 360 has a better OS and interface. Downside is peer-to-peer based onine games, meaning host advantage, lag and player/game dropping are prevalent

psn is fun fast and free withdedicated servers for online games.The interface is weak but works ok, the firmware is continually updated and closing what was a large gap.

If you want the best and HONEST answer and not fanboy BS. THE 360 is the far better choice. It has a TON of great games already out a a TON more on the way and holiday 07 360 DESTROYS Mass Effect Bioshock Halo 3 GTA4. Oh by the way if you want to do any kind of online gaming or media 360/Xbox Live completly kills Sony online. And most diehard Sony fanboys even accept this. But yes Sony is getting a little better just still not even close to the same level as Xbox Live. Anyway to be FAIR yes 360 has some hardware issuse. But hey MS just extended the warrenty to 3 years so really no worries. And if anything happens in 3 years just send it back and tehy will send you a new Falcon chip model anyway that is coming out soon.

360 is a MUST OWN SYSTEM. But i would say get a PS3 sometime in mid 08 also it will have some nice games by then also.

Things to consider:

-Which console has the most games you want
-Which console has the best online play *cough 360 *cough*
-Which console has the controller you like the most
-Which console is in your price range

All things considered...I would choose the 360 if I were you. :wink:

Hmm not sure what lag you speak of? I have a fast connection so i'm fine. Sure some games could lag mostly due to poor net code from the game developer.

Oh and i forgot to mention yes the 360 controller is the better controller most all gamesites have agreed on this also.

Yes 360 is the wise choice for sure. And like i said get a PS3 in mid to late 08 when they get some more games.

but for now and the future 360 OWNZ. Oh and trust me you do not want to miss Mass Effect. It's made by Bioware and well it's going to be Spectacular.

Oh and if you like shooters well the 360 is a NO BRAINER. Also all the sports game thus far have been far better on the 360 versions. And the 360 has some amazing RPG title on there way. Mass Effect ,Bioshock , Fable 2 Lost Oddessy Ninja Gaiden 2 DMC4 oh yes for fighting game DOA4 and soon to be Virture fighter 5 and both are ONLINE YES WOW.

360 is a NO BRAINER. What are you waiting for you should already be at Best Buy and out the door with your new 360 you will LUV IT!!!

Go to the store and make an impulse decision between the two. As a level 20, I'm sure you're more than familiar with this site and the information contained within pertaining to both consoles. So just go to the store with enough money to buy either or and make up your mind then. CyanX73

THE 360 IS extremily UNRELIABLE...... it will die like every 6 months.IF you want to play online you have to pay 50 $ ......with the ps3 is free....

AND if you like Final FAntasy and games like that the ps3 have them all....THE 360 DOSENT!

As you can see we are getting MAD PS3 fanboys in here now begging you to buy there system becuase they know it is not that great and they want you to buy it so they feel better about there own choice.

Anyway the 360 is not nearly as unreliable as they claim it has some issues with some but it's not going to break in 6 months sure it could like anything but it's fine. Again just to be safe MS has extended the warrenty to 3 years for free. No no sweat.

And also don't listen that 360 has nothing for 08. This is far from the truth. It's that MS is focusing on promoting there games for this holiday because it is so great maybe the best EVER for a holiday season.

But trust me MS has plenty of game lined up for 08 And they will be heard of later towards the end of this year.

Just to name a few.

Lost Oddessy, Ninja Gaiden 2 WOW 2 big ones right there. So don't fall into the Sony fanboy trap of no games for 08 there is going to be PLENTY of games for 08 on 360. They are just mad that this will be 3 holidays in a row that 360 DESTROYS Sony.

So listen the 360 is a spectacular choice.
