Here is why the PS3 is a failure.

And once Blu-Ray is a success Sony won't care anymore. When Blu-Ray wins Sony is going to make a huge profit for many years to come. Every movie and player sold, Sony will get part of the profit. PS3 has helped Blu-Ray a lot (pretty much is the reason why it is winning).

The cell is not as bad as a processor as you may think. It is still very powerful (still more powerful than the Xenos in the 360), but it is very complicated. Being a computer science major I understand the workings of processors and I will tell you that I don't have the slightest clue how to use the cell at all. The thing is just really almost ahead of its time, which is really giving developers a headache.

I believe the PS2 successfully killed the Xbox before it came out. Xbox did literally died or got betrayed by it's younger brother Xbox 360 who will eventually get killed off by a younger brother in 3 - 5 years.
