Outdated in what way? Consoles? It's a handheld. other handheld devices like the ipod touch, phones etc. Because those are the choices of serious gamers, of course.
yeah the price is kinda high but i think it will still sell well. the max i will pay for a handheld is $250. anything over that and im waiting for a price drop.

And Nvidia is pretty serious about the Tegra line considering the new LG, Motorola and HTC phones will use the Tegra 2,even ASUS wants it for their portable devices. Also Nvidia announced the Tegra 3 is almost done, and the Tegra 4 is coming soon. As well as having the Tegra 2 dev kit out since the start of this year, they're also starting to talk and make deals with devs.

I think what will push parents into buying it for their kids is the 3D aspect. The fact that you do not need glasses is hard to imagine and that is a BIG factor differentiating the 3DS from the DS, PSP, or even the consoles, none of them can do 3D at an affordable price like the 3DS can. Now, if the 3D is terrible on the 3DS, that will be something else. But if it is as good as we have all been hearing from media outlets, and all the features are available at release or soon after release, mom and pop will be buying this for little Johnny and little Susie, despite it being $300.

What an assinine comment to make. For one it's not gonna cost that much in North America. Nintendo tends to keep the numbers the same (i.e. 25K Yen=$250=250BP etc). And the specs haven't even been released officially, so let's wait and see on that. I would say you're the fandboy for not buying it given all the great games that are in development; have you seen the press release software montage? I'm gonna buy it for the GAMES not the specs. I can't play specs. Oh and the 3D sceen is brand new technology=not outdated.

Most of the games anounced are new for the 3DS. And the only N64 ports are OoT and StarFox.

I still have my original DS to. Backlight is not great but it does the job.
People paid like 3 times what the wii was worth by the thousands on the Internet for well over a year. The 3ds looks amazing in every possible way and will fly off shelves Just like the wii did..Even if it is 300$... Which I don't think it will be.

I can pick up an Ipod Touch for less than $250 so I would never buy a 3DS for that price. It needs to be $199 or sales will be PSP like. Although I got rid of both my DS and PSP for a Touch so I might be the wrong guy to ask.

Im mainly using the PS3 for Exclsuvies because I game multiplatform usualy on 360 because, quite hoenstly, most of the time they end up better their. So maybe I would have liked it if they fixed that part. But maybe next gen.
They can fix it if they increase sales. That way they would also gain more exclusives. The future is looking bright for Sony, lets pray they handle it correctly.
I dont think theyll garner enough sales this gen to change that though. Until they do, ill get them on my 360 unless told otherwise.

It depends on the coversion rate. Because the DSlite launched in Japan at an equivalent of $200 but in the US it launched at $129. So if it is similar the 3DS could cost $230 at launch in the US and $240 in Canada.

Well most new phones like the Droid X have HDMI out so you can plug right into a TV. and newer hardware will display movies form a phone in 1080p. Though the end of this year and early next year the new LG, Motorola and HTC phones will have a lot of that new hardware backing them so that's something you will see very soon.

The PSP GO had more problems than just the price though. Advertising was crap, all DD, and the PSP isn't exactly a hot seller like the DS is.

The PSP GO wasn't a new console though just a revision of the PSP. The 3DS shares the name but increased power and 3D effects. It will be interesting to see if the price is to high for the consumer. Nintendo has been doing quite well lately so I believe in their descion.
