drivers are usually free ;)

you could buy that if you want one of 4 japanese BRs that you'd have to import anyway. Completely useless for gaming.

Only ROM? Drats... writable blu-rays would be very useful for backing up my hard drive.

I've had 2 LiteOn drives in the past. They both failed before 24 months. Cheap for a reason.

$100 for a Blu-Ray ROM is pretty expansive.

No more than DVD ROM drives were about five or six years ago though.

Not much use for one unless you have PC hooked up to a HDTV. Anyway, there's LG's Blu-ray/HD-DVD/DVD-RW (6xBD / 3xHD-DVD) drive for 109e in Pixmania.

No point getting just a reader, you can get a writer for 150 quid if you really wanted one.

No reason to be happy..as I've no use for a Blu-Ray drive. With 1.5TB of HDD space, I don't have much use for a Blu-Ray writer, either >_> (could be nice for backing up data, I suppose)..

..what? LITE-ON is a really good brand for optical drives from what I've heard.

Never owned one, though. I have a couple Samsung drives myself..
