Hermits --- Why are you claiming ownage on lemmings for the Halo 2 score when...

It scored 7.0 on YOUR PLATFORM!  That's a new one hermits!  Claiming ownage on lemmings when a game gets a much worse score on your platform!  Seriously, WTF! By your logic if Gear of War releases on PC 3 years later and gets a 7.4, then lemmings are owned.  WTF!

I find it funny that many of the hermits are claiming ownage on lemmings for the score...even though it is ON THE PC!!!  Wow!  They are saying stuff like "Just shows how high PC standards are for FPS and how consoles have ridiculously lower standards".  Hermits...Halo 2 got the lowest score on your platform, the PC!  Quit claiming ownage on lemmings!  It is ridiculous.

It is hermits as well.  There are already several threads talking about the score, and hermits have made fun of lemmings for the score, saying that the game has such ridiculously low standards for Xbox, and that is why it scored so high on Xbox.  They are claiming ownage on lemmings ironically.

PC Gamers don't care! MS deserves a lousy score, they are releasing a 3 year old console FPS to the PC, and on top of that, they have made it Vista only.

Why would I care about Halo, when I've got HL 2 and mods to play?

edit: Oh, and charging $50 bucks for it! Meanwhile, IF I didn't already own Stalker, I could pick that up for around $30 bucks!

Ports should be rated on how well it was brought over, I believe. So it pretty much bad porting.

Yes, lemmings say that Halo is the greatest FPS ever.  But, hermits need to admit ownage for the PC version getting a much, much lower score than anticipated.  Halo 2's port is WORSE on PC than Xbox.  That should be ownage to hermits, not lemmings.  Also, yes...PC FPS are held to higher standards.  However, the standards aren't THAT MUCH HIGHER.  Take a look at Doom 3.  Xbox version scored 8.6 and PC version scored 8.5.  There is virtually no difference except graphics.  Taking that into account, Jeff points out that the PC version has outdated graphics.  How is that ownage to lemmings?  It is the developers' fault of not updating the graphics enough.  Also, standards have changed in 3 years.  If this game released on Xbox right now instead of in 2004, then it would score similarly to the PC version.  Why?  Because STANDARDS FOR CONSOLE FPS HAVE RISEN AS WELL.  Hermits seem to believe that console FPS never evolve.  That is simply not the case.  Claiming ownage on a graphically bad 3 year old port to lemmings when it is on the PC is just wrong.

It was hyped below A if im correct. And in one review(could be more) it was stated that the PC version is superior to the Xbox version. The only people that were actually hyping Halo 2 for the PC were the lemmings i think, but im not sure. I havent seen a single hermit that actually did hype Halo 2 at all.

Ports should be rated on how well it was brought over, I believe. So it pretty much bad porting. 

Bad porting, standards changing in 3 years, etc.  Hermits....If this game had released on PC in 2004, I guarantee you it would've scored high AA at least.  Why?  Because 3 years ago, the standards for PC FPS WERE LOWER than they are now.  Same for console FPS.  The reason it scored 7.0 is because...

1) Bad port

2) Standards have risen in 3 years for PC FPS, just like standards have risen for console FPS in 3 years. 

Hermits, don't think for a second that this game would've scored as low as 7.0 three years on PC.  Doom 3 stinks IMO...but it still scored 8.5 on PC.  Look how unevolved that game was...

It was scored fine for the Xbox Version, its a pretty good CONSOLE fps. But Halo doesnt really stack up to PC fps's. It was hyped below A, if hyped at all, for the PC.  

Okay, first off? It was the cows.

Secondly, we PC gamers don't care about Halo 2's score because we don't care about Halo 2. Do you see anybody throwing Sneak King's score in Lemmings faces and screaming "ZOMG PWNT"? No, because you don't care.

Thirdly, it got a 7.0 because they took a console shooter from 2004, spruced up the graphics slightly and tossed it into the 2007 shooter arena. FEAR, Half-Life 2, and STALKER tore it to peices and laughed.

In conclusion, we don't care.

Actually, it should insult Halo fans that us PC Gamers want nothing to do with it. I played it back on the Xbox years ago and I never thought it was anything special. I just don't care for console FPS's and especially a 3 year old port.

 It'd be pretty funny if a port of a 3 year old game did better than good. We might as well also claim Halos as xbox/360 exclusive since the PC port doesn't do it justice. themyth01

That's the thing though.  If you read the other threads on the PC Halo 2 score, hermits are laughing at lemmings saying that the PC port is BETTER THAN THE XBOX version and that PC FPS's have really, really high standards.  They are making fun of console FPS altogether as well...at least several hermits are.  They just assume Halo 2 is a port that is better than the Xbox version, but that Halo 2 is SUCH A HORRIBLE GAME that it doesn't even warrant a 7.0...but they also think a 9.4 is warranted for the console version, because they think the console FPS are so bad anyway, that even awfulness of Halo 2 and its 9.4 is the best a console can do in this genre.

 "While the game has maintained a great deal of popularity on the Xbox, Halo 2 feels like something of a relic when you put it out as a 2007 PC game."

In other words, Halo 2 PC is crap compared to other offers on the plataform.

How are Hermits owned though? According to the review Halo 2 on PC has better visuals than the Xbox version, has the same gameplay and sound, as well as more options for MP. It's virtually the same game Lemmings have, arguably better.

Not really, the PC Version is identical but with new texture improvements and new maps, and it still got that score, using the same online system as xbox ... so how can it be ownage to us? IT just shows the game is outdated and or had too much competition on the PC.

Becuase THEIR game isn't all that great compared to what's on OUR PLATFORM. Based upon that score, 30% of all the PC games out there are better than one of the best games on the Xbox.

 I think that's were the problem lies. The console people don't realize that Halo2 seems pretty banal compared to most other PC FPS's. It's a good console experience , but not a good PC experience...
