Hermits --- Why are you claiming ownage on lemmings for the Halo 2 score when...

It scored 7.0 on YOUR PLATFORM! That's a new one hermits! Claiming ownage on lemmings when a game gets a much worse score on your platform! Seriously, WTF! By your logic if Gear of War releases on PC 3 years later and gets a 7.4, then lemmings are owned. WTF!

I find it funny that many of the hermits are claiming ownage on lemmings for the score...even though it is ON THE PC!!! Wow! They are saying stuff like "Just shows how high PC standards are for FPS and how consoles have ridiculously lower standards". Hermits...Halo 2 got the lowest score on your platform, the PC! Quit claiming ownage on lemmings! It is ridiculous.

Becuase THEIR game isn't all that great compared to what's on OUR PLATFORM. Based upon that score, 30% of all the PC games out there are better than one of the best games on the Xbox.

Pretty much. The fact that it scored low on the PC still does not change the fact that Halo 2 was one of the BEST console shooter experiences out there.

Far Cry got the same score on the Xbox as PC (9.2).

FEAR came out later on Xbox 360 and is nearly the same game with additional content.

Call of Duty 2 came to Xbox 360 and is identical.

Crysis has not come out yet, so you can't use that.

The review says that. Thats why they are claiming ownage. Your best and basically only fps game is trash compared to PC shooters. 

As a hermit, I see halo 2 on the PC as simply another mediocre FPS game.

It might have been astounding on the Xbox, no doubt. However it simply does not stand up to PC standards.

FarCry on PC was amazing, and not the same game that consoles got.

Doom 3 was good, but it was more of a tech demo for their engine.

FEAR on PC not only looks better on PC, but has an expansion pack plus free Multiplayer available from the DEV

Call of Duty 1 + UO are miles better than Big Red One or any other console iteration. COD2 was the same game, looking better on PC with decent hardware.

No One Lives Forever 1 and 2  is one of the best FPS's of all time, look it up.

STALKER has an Amazing storyline and was just recently released a few months ago.

System Shock 2, look it up, I'm not going to waste my time.

 Return to Castle Wolfenstein on PC was amazing. Not to mention, spurred one of the biggest online communities with Enemy Territory. Ported to console, but not nearly the same game,

Clive Barker's Undying...One of the scariest games of all time not to mention was amazing. Jericho, the spiritual successor is coming out later this year.

Painkiller and expansion...Not the best story, but very creepy and a nice iteration of old school shooters. Still to this day, best Boss battles in any FPS to date.

Unreal 1 and 2: Awsome story from the guys at Epic.

It is hermits as well. There are already several threads talking about the score, and hermits have made fun of lemmings for the score, saying that the game has such ridiculously low standards for Xbox, and that is why it scored so high on Xbox. They are claiming ownage on lemmings ironically.

Because the STANDARDS OF QUALITY are MUCH HIGHER on OUR platform than it is on the xbox.

PC has better games, more innovation and generally better gameplay by virtue of the platform itself. Whereas the xbox is the lowest common denominator and for gamepad peons out there a 7.0 is a 9.0 because they have nothign else to compare it to.

Standards are LOWER are xbox, hence why bad games like halo 2 get a 9..........its the best of the worst.

Very well said. High scoring shooters on consoles  don't hold a candle to PC FPS.

Yes, lemmings say that Halo is the greatest FPS ever.  But, hermits need to admit ownage for the PC version getting a much, much lower score than anticipated.  Halo 2's port is WORSE on PC than Xbox.  That should be ownage to hermits, not lemmings.  Also, yes...PC FPS are held to higher standards.  However, the standards aren't THAT MUCH HIGHER.  Take a look at Doom 3.  Xbox version scored 8.6 and PC version scored 8.5.  There is virtually no difference except graphics.  Taking that into account, Jeff points out that the PC version has outdated graphics.  How is that ownage to lemmings?  It is the developers' fault of not updating the graphics enough.  Also, standards have changed in 3 years.  If this game released on Xbox right now instead of in 2004, then it would score similarly to the PC version.  Why?  Because STANDARDS FOR CONSOLE FPS HAVE RISEN AS WELL.  Hermits seem to believe that console FPS never evolve.  That is simply not the case.  Claiming ownage on a graphically bad 3 year old port to lemmings when it is on the PC is just wrong.

They weren't claiming ownage because they thought that it would be miles better on PC.  Far from it.  They were claiming ownage because Halo 2 sucks compared to PC FPS, and Halo 2's score illustrates that.  Halo 2 is an awesome console FPS, not an awesome PC FPS.  Hell, I'm willing to bet that even Half Life ONE beats Halo 2 in terms of story an gameplay.

Jeff reviewed it, he's more for PC.

If Greg K was still here, it would of easily gotten AAA.

The only one that is "owned" is Microsoft.  They have the gall to wait three years to release an FPS, charge $50.00, AND require the purchase of a new OS to run a game.  That is pretty pathetic.

 I can hear Microsoft now, "Halo 2 PC sales were dismal.  As a result, we conclude that PC gaming is dying."  Now all the lemmings will be running around pointing to Microsofts observation as proof that PC gaming is dying and their Xbox is so wonderful.

Half Life 2 came out around the same time as Halo 2 and It ultimately won Game of the Year like it was nothing, being nominated over 30 times for game of the year and Halo 3 beta has yet top Half Life 2 graphic which was a good 3 years ago.

How can Halo 2 pc compare to Half Life 2? There's no way in hell.

1. Same graphics, which is ugly now to PC gamers, its way outdated.

2. Halo FPS can't compare to PC FPS, PC FPS is way more balenced then killing people with rockets over and over.
