[QUOTE="Zeliard9"][QUOTE="SeanBond"] [QUOTE="Olidsc"]You'll never convince the fanboys of that. Anyways, as for next year, starcraft 2 (if it comes out in 2008) is all that matters. If it manages to surpass the first (not likely) or even match the first (decent possibility), you can pretty much declare that PC gamers have won the decade.SeanBond
In the eyes of people who actually care for RTS games. For the rest of us (a lot of non-hermits), Starcraft 2 is no more important than any other random game.
Until Halo Wars and Clancy's EndWar, at which point RTSs will all of a sudden become "cool" with the console crowd. It's so predictable.
You're mistaking fanboys for the "console crowd". Fanboys will come around to the RTS when it's on their system (although some would argue that C&C or Battle for Middle Earth should have done this for the 360 already), but for console owners who genuinely don't particularly care about the RTS genre,it still won't matter.
Why are you even bothering argueing over the tastes of people.. Just because console crowd won't care about games such as Starcraft 2, doesn't mean it could be one of the best games of all time..
People could say the exact same about numerous games that are being hyped froma different system.. It doesn't make it any less valid.. (arguablly, after all Starcraft IS one of the best games of all times so sayth thy gamespot.. The Sequel has a high chance of delivering sense Blizzard has shown they have the talent to pull this off.. Specially after the success of Warcraft 3, showing they have thing to make a solid RTS.. And WoW, which pretty much gives them a bottomless pit of money they can use to devolpe it as well as a deadline free devolpment period.).
