Wipeout is definitely a fantastic looking game and especially at 1080p, plays great and runs silky smooth. But it is pretty basic compared to most games these days.

This is gonna sound very subjective, but: personality. While the environments do look impressive from a graphical and even artistical perspective, they represent nothing. They just look too abstract and sterile for my liking. It might sound weird, but I really like how F-Zero has really turned into some futuristic cheesefest over time. Not saying that Wipeout should've gone in the same direction, but I'd say that the F-Zero series is just so much more memorable. I just feel a bit depressed when playing Wipeout.

Other than that, F-Zero GX's sick fast gameplay just blows any other futuristic racing game out of the water if you ask me. It's just so much more intense than anything out there.

I just downloaded the Wipeout HD demo on my PS3 and it indeed looks amazing. The resolution is transparent and the frames are impeccable, a true technical showcase. The game isalso incredibely fun to play (I've run the same Vineta K race in the demo over 30 times in two days). I'm on the verge of downloading the full title.

How exactly does a graphics king feel?

The first few pictures remind me of Audiosurf. I never really liked any of the Wipeout games TBH.

I just purchased the full verson of Wipeout Fury HD and all I have to say is wow, the PS3 continues to amaze me. The stunning visuals only are a complement to the fluid gameplay. I've always been a Wipeout fan and this game is definitely the pinnacle of the series in which all fans should invest. I wouldn't call it the definative graphics king but it's surely up for nomination.

Um, so, what console is it on again? Cus I totally need to buy this.

hmmm. here would be a chance to try out Playstation Plus for 90 days too. 15€ subscription (=free Wipeout HD) + Fury for 10€ = 25€

What would be the point? You could get a boxed version of wipeout for that much and not have to give it back after your subscription ends.

Anyway i need my F-zero fix. I played wipeout years ago but didnt like it as much. Il give it another year. If the price is low enough and F-zero neXt isnt out, il get it.
