360 is doing lacklustre in Europe and in total hardware sold it's on just over4.5million while PS3 has just about reach 3million. Honestly the fact thatPS3 has sold 3/4 of total 360 sales in just about 8 months is amazing and proof that Playstation brand is far stronger in Europe compared to 360, even a year head start couldn't help 360 in Europe.

The fact is Microsoft doesn't cater to anyone other then the American audience, every other major territory is shunning Microsoft because they(MS)are forcing them to like FPS with huge muscular men etc. Microsoft doesn't cater to them and that will be their undoing by the end of this Gen.

I find it amazing that Microsoft is claiming that Europe will be keybattleground for 360 next year, arn't they aware that 360 is doing bad in Europe or are they just saying that to make European gamers feel that Microsoft hasn't forgotten them. No way will Microsoft succeed in Europe next year and I can honestly say that PS3 will 100% definitely over-take the 360 in total sales next year. Think about it, it took Microsoft 2 years to get to 4.5 million while it took PS3 less then a year to get 3/4 of what 360 has sold in 2 year.

You use VG Charts to quantify each console's sales in Europe? You even admit in your post there's a deviation of about 3 million in your "sources". I don't understand how you can expect objectivity after that.

Just be aware your going to come under scrutiny for that.

I consider vgcharts to be more accurate then nextgenwars. PS3 was at 5.5million in September, a month & a half before the price drop, so why does nextgenwars say PS3 hasn't sold anything the past two months despite the price decresae :?

vgcharts may not be 100% accurate but then again what sales information is ?, vgcharts is close enough but maybe off abit, then again it's the best site to determine sales for now. I have seen a few 360 fans rely on vgchartsfor software/hardware sales numbers also you know

well not buying a PS3 is my problem not yours :| personaly I don't feel like buying a PS3 till early next year, I have a PS2 and am still having great fun playing it. I'm not saying PS3 is a bad purchase on the contrary PS3 has enough quality titles and features to warrant a purchase. I was going to buy a 360 last year but it doesn't have the games that cater to my tastes plus I'm not a big fan of shooters. I prefer games like Heavenly Sword, Unchartedand R&C Future. Name me one game on the 360 that is like the games I have mentioned?

The Wii is too casual for my tastes and the 360 is too hardcore, PS3 has the right balance and will continue to in 08.

Living in Europe myself (Sweden) I am alsways curious where people get their figures for the whole of Europe. It's not one big country and there are not reliable companies (like NDP) that provided sales figures.

Some parts are very pro-Sony (Spain,France), others seem to favour the 360 (for instance UK). I have no clue how Sweden is although the 360 versions of games always outsell the PS3 versions here and the 360 has a high profile here (I know a few people in stores that sell consoles and the 360 sells very well - says nothing about the whole country though).

Thing is - it's very hard to accurately judge how the fight in Europe is going and even more importantly - since Europe consists of a lot of countries - it varies from country to country.

And in the end - who bloody cares? Right now all consoles are winners. PS3 is starting to sell better after the price drop and probably will overtake the 360 some day as it has a whole extra territory to sell in (as the 360 simply isn't selling in Japan). The 360 is doing well and will undoubtely surpass the Xbox marketshare which means it's a big improvement and the Wii is dominating.

well not buying a PS3 is my problem not yours :| personaly I don't feel like buying a PS3 till early next year, I have a PS2 and am still having great fun playing it. I'm not saying PS3 is a bad purchase on the contrary PS3 has enough quality titles and features to warrant a purchase. I was going to buy a 360 last year but it doesn't have the games that cater to my tastes plus I'm not a big fan of shooters. I prefer games like Heavenly Sword, Unchartedand R&C Future. Name me one game on the 360 that is like the games I have mentioned?

The Wii is too casual for my tastes and the 360 is too hardcore, PS3 has the right balance and will continue to in 08.

I have far too much going on right now to buy a PS3 even though I really want to, it's not money problem thats holding me back before you ask. I will certainly buy a PS3 but that doesn't mean I don't have the right to praise the PS3 right now.

Honestly Blackbond you talk as if all of system wars is praising the PS3 and your fed-up of it. For every 1 thread praising the PS3 there are 10 that bash it, most of the bashing is from the 360 fan-boys. I don't consider myself a fan-boy as I do believe the Wii is a good console if your into that sort of gaming. Now when it comes to 360 I have to bash it in system wars because most of the PS3 bashing comes from the 360 fans.

Bashing a console of any type is part of being a fanboy. What SW chooses to praise is nothing I can start or stop. People have free will they can do what they want. But for someone who talks about the PS3 being so amazing its suprising that you don't own one.

Am I the only Sony fan on here that's not a paid viral marketer? Because seriously, I wants my money for keeping the faith the same as everyone else.
