GS: So you wouldn't have any problems competing against a series [Final Fantasy] that you helped create so many years ago?

HS: I'm willing to break them into pieces, crush them at my feet. [laughs]

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6167571.html?tag=topslot;title;1

Now, obviously he is joking here, but it only sounds like a half-joke. What do you think? Will Sakaguchi be able to crush the series he helped create?

In quality? Sure, it's possible. I don't see any reason why he can't make a better game if they really work hard. Sales? Not a chance in hell.

no one dares to release a game (RPG) the same time FF does (DQ maybe)

IMO its not an impossibility. I could have liked the latest entries in the FF series more. Even if that is even possible to destroy its legacy is a completely different story.

If PS3 continues to sell poorly and lag behind the 360 it is not only possible, it is inevitable unless FF13 is released on the PS2 which is not happening.

I used to be a blind fanboy; and had always thought the system had always sell itself. But i was wrong. It was the game that sold the system.8)

No but solid leadership can make up for many shortcomings. Like many here say, I think he can make a great game, but certainly nothing that would topple Final Fantasy, at least in terms of sales.

The only thing Xbox360 has good right now is Him on their side. If HS doesn't do weel with 360, you can pretty much count 360 as 3rd place this gen.

I dunno.... I don't like this guy. He's on the Dark Side. (nothing to do with 360) He doesn't talk like the other great devs (Kojima, Cliffy B and others). He's EVIIIIIIL!

I think it would be intersting if something becomes greater than FF, no downsides at all. The new "Final Fantasy" and actually Final Fantasy will still be great.

Actually no, most of the ones who created the good FFs have moved on. A lot of the leaders are actually at Mistwalker, or are working on the Wii (like the director of FFXII).

WRONG! someone already posted a list of people who's working with mistwalker. and they didn't even played a crucial role with final fantasy. All the talented people that worked on the past final fantsay are workign with final fantasy XIII. one of them made his own company, but he's currently helping with final fantasy xiii.

Errr........what? Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey had the longest lines at TGS, and Famitsu's poll later had him as the #4 most powerful individual in the Japanese game industry, behind Miyamoto, Kutaragi, and Iwata, and ahead of everybody else.

Xbox360 is a great system if you don' like being number one. Some people are actually please to behind the leader. Like I said, HS is the only bright star for the Xbox360. Otherwise you left with Western developers who think guns must be in a game or it's not a game...

Post that list and prove it, then. But unless you're talking about FFVIII and onward (i.e. the most mediocre of the Final Fantasy games), you're wrong.

Very unlikely, considering that the developers have left Capcom and the game didn't sell well. ..There are rumors of a Wii port though.

ditto, also i will add the team making FF13 is the one responsible for 7,8 and 10. Sakaguchi played a much smaller role in the development of those titles when compared to 1-6(and 9).

Oh yes, because having a main character with a sword  in most JPRPGS is definitely out there in terms of brilliance and thought out provoking material.......... Anyway, both of those arguments are preatty much pointless imo. Can you give me a reason(just naming one game)of why Too Human should not be bumped more in some peoples opinion then this game? Preferably a reason outside the e3 showing?

"Final Fantasy" is practically sononymous with "RPG" and that's not gonna change anytime soon. Sakaguchi can try, but he won't succeed.

That's because no one's seen LO's gameplay. Unless you're somehow suggesting that an hour-long demo made a year and a half before the game was actually scheduled to be released should be in any way representative of the full final game.

SO 360 was also selling poorly, since PS3 outsold it in its opening months,

And just like 360 picked up, so will PS3
