[QUOTE="Shirley_Temple"]No one who's seen LO gameplay is excited for it.magus-21
That's because no one's seen LO's gameplay. Unless you're somehow suggesting that an hour-long demo made a year and a half before the game was actually scheduled to be released should be in any way representative of the full final game.

I guess you have high hopes for it then.

He can definitely make a better game but depsite the seemingly dwindling quality of the Final Fantasy series in some people's opinions. It's incredibly hard to tkae such a series that's grown so large like Final Fantasy but who knows, it's Hironobu Sakaguchi after all.

[QUOTE="Tokaithegreat"][QUOTE="joeblak"]He can definately make a better game, but it has no chance of reaching FF in sales.Blinblingthing

If PS3 continues to sell poorly and lag behind the 360 it is not only possible, it is inevitable unless FF13 is released on the PS2 which is not happening.

SO 360 was also selling poorly, since PS3 outsold it in its opening months,

And just like 360 picked up, so will PS3

The month of Feb this year, the PS3 didn't outsell the 360 during it's first release during Feb. Poke around, I saw it in some topic comparing sales. Could be wrong, but I really don't care.

Actually no, most of the ones who created the good FFs have moved on. A lot of the leaders are actually at Mistwalker, or are working on the Wii (like the director of FFXII).

WRONG! someone already posted a list of people who's working with mistwalker. and they didn't even played a crucial role with final fantasy. All the talented people that worked on the past final fantsay are workign with final fantasy XIII. one of them made his own company, but he's currently helping with final fantasy xiii.

ditto, also i will add the team making FF13 is the one responsible for 7,8 and 10. Sakaguchi played a much smaller role in the development of those titles when compared to 1-6(and 9).

Not really, he went from director to producer. That role is just as important, and is more control over what actually takes place to get the game polished, and the best product. As a director, beascailly shaped his vision into the games he made. From Director to Producer, isn't a smaller role. Its just as significant.

He might be able to outdo the Final Fantasy games, but the name itself will allow the FF to stay above Mistwalker's for a long time.

I thought that pic was CGI,if its-in game (which i wouldnt doubt from seeing the last build) then it looks stunning, and no he wont be able to crush FF in sales realeasing games on the 360...on the PS3,Wii,PS2,PSP,or DS then yeah, possibly in sales. On 360,no way,JRPG's dont really appeal to many 360 gamers.

EDIT:Oh yeah,he can easily make a much better game than Final Fantasy.

What?? He had a HUGE role in 7. It was because of 7 he got the support to make the godawful FF movie.

ah my bad, just looked at ff7's credits, your right, he still was the main producer for 7 although producer is still a less signifigant role than the director position he served in earlier games. (and that movie did stink :( )
EDIT: from wiki:
"His mostly hands-on involvement became a bit more lax following Final Fantasy VI, which was released on April 2, 1994 (for which he was the game producer, before that, he was the game director of all the Final Fantasy games up until Final Fantasy V) for the Super Famicom and one year later, in 1995, he became President at Square USA, Inc. He later went on to serve more as an executive producer of the series, as well as many of Square's other games."

I don't know who Hironobu Sakaguchi is and I'm not interested in RPGs so I guess this doesn't affect me.

Correct, Hironobu Sakaguchi had little involvement with final fantasy series. After iv, he were mainly a producer, for Final fantasy vi, and up. He just wanted to watch final fantasy grow up.

Actually, according to www.vgcharts.org, the Xbox 360 sold 160k units in Feb 2006, outpacing the PS3, which sold 127k this past february...

And lets not forget that the 360 was also suffering from mass shortages at the time...

LMAO.....keep dreaming

back on topic though,  if someone could topple FF it would be him.  Shouldn't be hard to do though seeing how the FF series has been getting EXTREMELY stale....
