No big surprise really, nor is it really news since the information has been available since 5 months back or something. But apparently people aren't too keen on digging through companies' annual reports.

Here's what IO Interactive's says.

The company is currently working on 3 projects and plans to release Kane & Lynch: Dead Men during the summer period of 2007. The remaining projects, which have not yet been disclosed, are expected to be released in the fiscal year of 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 respectively.IOI

One of these is guaranteed to be another installment in the Hitman series. The other one is either a brand new IP or it could be the long lost sequel to Freedom Fighters. I'm guessing the former. Or a sequel to Kane & Lynch, who knows.
The company is working on a new internally developed technology platform Glacier 2 which will replace the old technology platform Glacier 1. Glacier 2 is being developed especially for the next generation consoles and will secure a more effective production and make it possible to make games of an even higher quality. The Glacier 2 development is expected to be completed in 2007.IOI

So unlike Blood Money (and presumably Kane & Lynch) the next Hitman will be utilizing a brand new engine rather than a modified Glacier 1. About time I'd say. They've been using this one ever since their first game I think. And while Blood Money certainly was a very nice addition to the series (the best I'd say), this brings hope that the next installment will be...more. More than the "Best Of" Blood Money kinda felt like.

The last Hitman I played was Contracts and it felt way to similar to the second. I also played the BM demo and it wasn't very different. Glad to hear they are changing the engine.

I liked Blood Money, so I'll check out any new installment. *Prays for Freedom Fighters 2*

Yeah they're all pretty similar. But Blood Money was like the epitome of the series. It was just so well made it could be forgiven for not actually bringing much in terms of innovation. It's pretty much as far as they can bring the current structure as far as I'm concerned.
